If you're looking for bureau - try the local skips / recycling centre! I picked one up from there for £5 and then when my FIL passed one on to me, I gave it to Tiff (of MSE fame!). I've seen some other nice things at the skip - including a wardrobe for £15 - but I didn't have a large enough car with me!!
Hi - I'm Emma, aged 37 (ouch!) and have two boys - Chris (6) and Ben (4). About to do our final move from an army quarter to our own house, so I'll finally have everything in its place!!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Are you near an IKEA? There are huge reductions (75%) in the sale but items vary from store to store
Cardiff seems to have an additional 10% for family and friends cardholders and seems to be on for longer too. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. I'm a bit over 30
and won't be having anymore babies as I have 4 children already the youngest is 3 and the eldest 23. I have 5 dogs and 6 chickens and live in rural Essex. I'm not a true SC as I'm not heavily into flowers and distressing of furniture but I love to do the refurb thing.
I'm looking out for a desk of some description to paint cream/off white to use for my sewing so I anyone spots one on Ebay in the mid Essex areaplease let me know.
If anyone is after wingback chairs the 2 that were mentioned on here the other day have gone back on Ebay with a starting price of 99p so someone could grab a bargain. I'm almost tempted myself but as I haven't started the 2 I've got I'd better not.0 -

danem1, if you go to your blog pic online, right click on it then click properties. Copy and paste the address url of the pic, then come back here and when you use the quick reply box on this website, first of all click on the yellow square above where you write (if you hover over it it will say "insert image") then paste the address of your pic.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks
What do I do to get the address url? Don't I have to have listed/posted it somewhere such as my blog - where do you girls put them then so that you can use the url - do you use flickr - I am like a dinosaur arent I - oops0 -
Fabulous thread and I did post a few pages back about my addiction to sewing boxes lol.
I am 44 and a Training Manager. Separated with a 12 year old and 10 year old twin boys
Was really into the whole restoration/painting old furniture thing a few years ago then life sort of got in the way, with work and the children. Reading this thread has inspired me - I still have some bits of furniture in the garage that I bought back then and never got around to doing ... this weekend might be the start of things

Can anyone tell me if I need to sand my telephone table or just use a primer? It's here if you want to look. If I need to use a primer can anyone recommend one as I don't have a clue!
Just to go with the other introductions. I'm 29 (very nearly 30!) and live in south wales (but only just, right by the severn bridge), with my Dp M and our 2 children ds who is 3 and dd 6 months. I'm loving learning new crafts at the moment.0 -

I use flickr or photobucket. You should be able to use the pics on your blog though, or are those not allowed on here too?“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -
:wave:guess I should introduce myself too
Hi My name's Elaine and I'm a scrapaholic or I was until I came across shabby chic and this thread and now I try and split my time (which is already in short supply) between Scrapping (the paper kind!!) and attempting to breathe life back into faded bits of furniture. I mentioned time is short that's because my two little monsters take up so much of it - not that I am complaining at all - they are the best things that has ever happened to me. My hubby is my toyboy by 7 and 1/2 years ok ok nearly 8 to be precise its 7 years and 10 months (ouch) and we have our boy who is 8 and our madam who is 6 going on 16 - lol!!! I work part time as an Auditor (not that you would tell somedays with my typing)
So waving madly at everyone - whose turn is it now? :wave:0
