I had a pretty good time at the boot sale this morning despite taking Dylan with me. I ended up with quite a few cars and diggers and also a cute alarm clock, pine kitchen clock and pine frame which I hope to transform into a ribbon type notice board for the kitchen.

The best bargain was a huge Fisher Price dolls house which Dylan wouldn't stop playing with and the lady letme have it for £2!. Will pop some photos on in a bit.

Here is the book rack I made for the top of my fridge. It's a cheapy shelf from B&Q with the supports fixed onto the sides to stop the books falling off. there's no base to it as it's on the fridge but I could have put a strip of wood at the back if I needed to and turn it so the back is underneath. I painted with the CK linen paint. Nothing special but I'm glad they are out of the cupboard now.
Annoyingly I saw a proper one at the Boot Sale this morning after looking for about a year, how blimin typical!

looking forward to see what you do with them - this board is becoming a bit of an addiction - been sat with staplegun and fabric all night covering the pad for the dining room chair - dh is really pleased with how the chair looks - says you'd pay lots in the shop so am chuffed - only 3 more to go now

Danemi1-Im about to do my dining room chairs too. Its the first time Ive tried it. Did you find it easy or was a bit of a struggle as it sounds like its taken a while?
Do you just cut out the required shape and staple to the back or is there something else to it?

I dont want to mess it up as pushed the boat out and bought some posh fabric from Laura Ashley...

OH NO, I am in Swansea on Thursday, Llanelli is on my list to visit asap (for work reasons REALLY)

you bad, bad ladies, I thought this site was for money saving not temptations :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yes the website is rubbish there is nothing like the buzz of going into TK Maxx and spotting things that you just dont see any where else.

SDC13370.jpg?t=1277712537This was the frame. I've used some of the kitchen cabinet paint but it needs another coat. I covered the backboard with a sample of wallpaper from B&Q kids section. The dots are white but the flash has made it all look shinier than it is. Then I taped the ribbon at the back with parcel tape. It seems secure at the moment!

I'm hoping that DH will put it up for me when he gets home today as I have friends round tomorrow and want my kitchen to look nice.
