what colour did you do the walls with your lemon units BTW as we have lemon units. I have bought this blind http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9412028&fh_view_size=10&fh_location=//catal!!!1/en_GB&fh_search=terracotta+blind&fh_eds=ß&fh_refview=search&ts=1246899222683&isSearch=true and have painted a freecycle cupboard orange. Chiver I was just going to ask the very same thing! The units will be lemon but not sure what colour to do the walls and tiles so they blend with the units and the worktops.
Been on the look out for fabulous bargains to accessorize!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

I have white walls, 'mosaic' style wall tiles in shades of grey/white and grey/blue mottled-y floor tiles.
I then went daft with pastel colours eg a pink kettle & toaster, pale blue washing up bowl, pink spotty oilcloth on the table, pale blue tools etc
I have collected a few cup-cake tins etc which seem to suit too.
The fact MiL calls it 'childish' doesn't matter - she doesn't need to come & look at itI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Sounds cool!! :TWhite here we come and need to get some vinyl for the floor when I have some money. Problem is that we have a downstairs bathroom and lobby area to so when we do the kitchen we have to do those areas too and that means that it would be much more expensive. :eek:There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0

The kitchen looks lovely! The units have dried overnight and are a bit patchy but nothing that can't be fixed. Thank you for the advice on the walls, I think I will go for the white too!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Hello everyone I`m still on reading the original thread and I am so inspired with all the fab projects! I have recently painted 2 bedside cabinets and a large chest of drawers in white and have one more to go.
I also made a pretty eiderdown to go on the bed in my smallest bedroom.
I love shabby chic/ french country style!

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say loving the thread and everyone's pics. I can't believe I only spotted it today. I read through the old shabby chic thread a few months ago and found it really inspiring. I was lusting after a dresser and tv cabinet from the Cotswold Company that cost £800+. I realised that I was never going to be able to afford this furniture and the old thread made me realise that I could create the same look for a fraction of the cost. I started to scour ebay for similar looking furniture and then painted it in F&B oil eggshell in pointing. I have actually only managed to paint the dresser so far  and still have the tv cabinet to finish, but I am really pleased with the results so far. It really looks like the one I wanted but much cheaper :T. I keep a look out for the 15% vouchers for homebase to buy my paint, they pop up all over the place and I usually manage two weekends a month where I have a voucher, and this makes the F&B more affordable. I will try to post some pics if I can work out the flickr thing.
