Ooooh I forgot to take Before pics... can do an After pic though! It looks sooo much better now, that 80's orange pine was quite awful... still enough paint to do my mirror as well which sits above the desk so that it all matches...

I think it's Crochet - it's got a hint of gray I think but very slight, looks lovely. Same colour as I did my table, a few pages back now.

Will try to take pic and upload, although last time it would not do the upload (I have a Flickr account and I shared the pics, but the link wouldn't work?) so had to ad the pics to my blog instead.

Hello, I am just about to shabby chic my whole kitchen but am undecided as to which colour to paint the units but I will be dropping in here a lot for inspiration! I have also been making a quilt for my DD and I will post pics when I am finished. How is everyone getting on?

Rummer, what colours do you like? what are your reasons for painting the units?

My units were pine & the kitchen was dark so i painted them cream & changed to light wood worktops.

its entirely up to you what colours you like, there are lots of threads if you search & also on flickr there are photos of what other people have done :)

mine is still a work in progress but i might be able to find some photos :)

Hi everybody! I've been following this thread for a few weeks now but have been into shabby chic for years - I LOVE it! If anyone's interested here are a couple of pics of my latest projects:

This is a mahogany mirror I got for £20 from ebay last week
    Before:

After - painted in F&B Wimborne White and some nice new knobs.

And this is a patchwork quilt I started making about 5 years ago. I gave up on it and put it away in a cupboard, but now I've decided to finish it so I'm going to make a pretty border for it and it will go on my DD's bed when its finished.

We really need a new kitchen but I am making do in the short term. I want a pastel type kitchen but I am tied in to the colour of the worktops and the flooring. Both of them are beige with lighter colours and the work tops have thin strip of brown in them. Thinking it might need to be a yellow coulour. The room is flooded with light so I want it to be a cheery and welcoming place.

    Good choice!
I chose a lemon 50s look when we gutted our kitchen - it was too late to repaint the old units .

Even 6 years later it still cheers me up to see the lovely colour, and everybody says nice things ...except MiL who thinks it is 'old fashioned' ;)
