I picked up another revamp project at the car boot sale this morning - a pine decorative shelf unit that I'll sand and paint pale grey or sage green I think.

I'm also lucky enough to live near Elan Bach in Mid-Wales where they sell samples, off cuts etc so I've some gorgeous bits of fabric to make cushions, a wall hanging and a blind with.

Such a shame that work, kids and revision keep getting in the way of my new fab shabby chic home!

DH has started sanding my director's deckchair. Wodwork is going to be pale blue with pink floral seat and back, sort of faux Cath Kidston. Can't wait!!!!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Gangstabird.....that quilt is wonderful....you should be proud, many congratulations! And your bit of French was right too, so take several bows.

ISOM...not sure what timber the thing is made of, its one of many things my late father gathered in his working life...he was a carpenter and could never say 'no' if someone offered him something free....my poor mother used to go mad as the house and sheds were all full of 'junk' as she termed it.....not sure how they didnt kill each other during the 58 years they were married....one with a very tidy gene and one with no tidy genes at all...they passed them on to my brother and I ...his motto is 'if in doubt throw it out' and I am exactly like my father. Will take piece out in sunshine some day and have a close look at it...soon.

    Night all, sleep well.

GangstaBird - That is beautiful, did you make that? My Mum made me a quilt for my 21st, and it looks stunning on the bed

Luxor - I checked the Dunelm website for the storage tins you mentioned and could not see any. I guess I will have to take a trip over there, maybe they have not updated the website yet.

Thanks PP for starting this new thread, I love Shabby Chic too, have read all through the old thread over several weeks, great to see so many others share my love of old stuff painted up...only trouble is the paint bumps up the cost esp if you like using Farrow and Ball or Laura Ashley like me;). I was so lucky yesterday, picked two tins of F&B emulsion from the boot sale, opened but not used, £1.50 each:j. Should do a few pieces of furniture, I also bought a wall shelf with coat hooks for £3 which I'll give a coat of paint to later. Off to the Bank holiday boot sale now to hunt out more bargains.
