I spluttered my tea when I saw that - I hate frogs, I am terrified of them and that would just freak me out!

Ha - that made me splutter my tea with laughter. Please stop showing me lovely things on different websites. I need to save money but I just keep nesting (as my mother would have said) and buying pretty things. She (my Mum) would be laughing her socks off that I have become all "girly" shabby chic. Until about 2 years ago I was ultra contemporary and minimal (for that read cold and boring). I reckon that I must just be really content now!

Has anyone stripped the paint from a lloyd loomesque chair? it's an old one & as is usual with them the wicker is completely clogged with paint, I'm not too sure how it like paint stripper & would hate it to fall to pieces. Mind you I guess if it did I may finish my projects by the time I'm 249 if it melts.

Sorry if this has been answered on subsequent posts but I think real Lloyd Loom is made from paper around a wire frame and can't be stripped in the normal way. I think the genuine article has a makers mark on the underside so worth checking first.

For the coasters what about painting over the fabric with clear nail polish, a few coats should protect the fabric.

Instad of laminating, you could try 'painting' the fabric with coats of PVA.

Hart you have made me think, I might try laminating fabric.
I had some spare CK fabric from my sew CK bag from the strap that I took off, I used some of it to make a little coaster but I could probably make a bookmark or two if it works. I think I will drag myself off my bum and cut some fabric to take into work and try this tomorrow.
I will let you know how I get on, if I don't set fire to the office and get the sack! :)

Thats a great idea Kandi :D
Hehe if you do set fire to your work place you will have more time for sewing and jewellery making but draw back is lack of funds :rotfl:

Ha yes hadn't thought of that!
I did cut some fabric last night and I have just laminated it at work (shh don't tell anyone, I keep telling everyone I am rushed off my feet here!) and it worked a treat, I was quite pleased.
I will faff them up a bit when I get home and post pics.

Im glad it worked Kandi, Ive been at work all morning so not had a chance to try it but now I know its ok I will give it a go.

I had a small piece of CK oilcloth and cut one circle out and it looks good and I haven't painted the coaster yet :D

Now off to cut my lawn before work again tonight :(

Hello :j it's been a very long week at work with half term activities, so I've spent my free time either sleeping or packing boxes (although still some way from an exchange/completion date!).

Just thought you lot might like to see the sofa and chair I won on eBay today. Haven't a clue where it's going to go but I'm thinking of painting and reupholstering if I can work out how it's done.

OH is taking me to collect tomorrow evening, so I'd better make some space somewhere

I think I might start taking bets on how much they cost...anyone want to play? :D
