hermum, there's a link to their site at the beginning of my post but unfortunately they don't sell online. There's a site finder there tho so there might be one near you?

I follow this thread with interest but haven't posted before - love all the things that everyone is doing!

Hermum- I have an old Lloyd loom chair that I am in the process of revamping, so I've been doing some research. There's some good advice here http://www.countryliving.co.uk/index.php/chatroom/topic/280 especially about not getting it wet because loom is made from paper.

I'm going to use car spray paint to do mine - once I can match up the right shade of blue!

Hart...i love the quilt you made! Have you done quilting before? I intend to try and make one at some point...but i have so many other projects lined up first...so i dont know when that will be.... lol

Thank you Mely, I have only ever done a patchwork cushion cover, I made it for my mum's mothers day gift but it wasnt as neat as this quilt.

I sewed all the strips 1st (in rows of 6) then I very carefully matched the side making sure the squares matched up and made 4 pannells then I put some jelly roll strips around the edge. I had to look up on the internet for advice on how to miter corners (this helped :)) http://www.amyscreativeside.com/2009/04/tutorial-mitered-corners.html

The bigest headache was how to add the wadding :( in the end I just made a big duvet cover and put the wadding in side and pined again then went areound the edge to keep it in place :)
I am putting a few stitches in the corners of the square to keep it from loosing shape (if that makes sence)

I loved doing it and will deff be making more :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

I bought some of the blue and rose print napkins from Tesco yesterday and hope to cover a few boxes to keep my sewing bits in and also a flowerpot that we have in the bathroom. Can anyone give me any tips on doing this please?

I found an oilcloth tablecloth in Tiger (www.Tiger-Stores.co.uk will tell you wheree there is a store near you but not online shop) with red and white gingham print and strawberries. It is 200cm x 140cm and really pretty. Best of all it's £4. I've just cut a bit for DS picnic table and have loads left. Do I need to hem the edge at all or is it OK just leaving it cut? I'm trying to think what to make with the rest as it's so gorgeous.

It seems to always be out of stock on her website, does anyone know where else I could get it from?

    Thanks :D

I saw these lunchbags on TipNut and thought they were a good idea, I've bookmarked them for later.

There are lots of ideas on there for oilcloth.

To an earlier point raised about oilcloth, TipNut recommend cleaning it with milk. Would that not get a bit smelly? ;)

The link for tiger stores isn't working - there's no '-' in it, so I've changed it in the quote :)

"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful" - William Morris
Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.

Does anyone here live near an Evolution? I have one in town and saw some really cute SC wall hangings in there today.

I bought a little cupcake trinket box from the one in Birmingham last week :)
It was only £3, very pleased :) it sits on my CK cake stand :D

On another note, I didnt have any white spray paint to paint my brass mirror with, but Dad assured me normal wall paint will do!!

Oooh I have this ;) Im lucky as I went and asked in the CK consession in Selfridges (Birmingham) if they had any left in stock, and they said there was none left in any stores but she ordered me one for when they come back in stock to go and pick up. I had to wait 4 weeks but it finally arrived and im sooo pleased!!

So maybe if you have a store nearby you could ask if they can order one or reserve one for you??

Heres mine today :D I made some cakes last night :)
