Thanks JCR. I think I'll see if I can get one of those, because it looks like it'll fit between the spindles easily enough. I think I might just save myself the work as far as the table top goes, and leave it as it is. It's dark brown (which isn't something I'd choose myself), but I intend to keep a table cloth on it anyway :)

    Thanks again [/
Lidl, have the mouse sanders & orbital sanders on offer this coming Monday, the sandpaper is really well priced, well worth stocking up on.
You can also buy liquid sander, bought some but never used it. From all DIY shops

Not posted anything for ages & ages, except above re cheap sanders.
Congrats on all who are on the move soon, I hope that it all goes through nice & easy.
Well done everyone on all your projects.
I need to stop buying stuff & get on & do up what I have, but I just cannot resist a bargain. I have found so many bargains over the last few weeks. I think that I may have to live to be 250 to complete them all.
Whoever has the Parker Knoll, is yours a wingback? I got one a couple of weeks ago from freecycle & am going to recover it, I've got a selection of pashminas, velvet scarves & table runners that I knew would come in useful one day, I'll be starting this when I'm 187. hopefully i will have learnt to sew by then. I did make a waist apron in DS when I was 11 if that counts.
For your sewing machine, have you considered a courier? I use Payperparcel, hope I can say who I use. Never had any problems & it's £6.89 for up to about 30kg. It will need to be wrapped & boxed though.
As soon as I get a piece done I will post pics.

Does anyone here live near an Evolution? I have one in town and saw some really cute SC wall hangings in there today.

    Couple of examples:

They are handmade in countries such as Bali, India and Guatemala and Evolution are dedicated to trading ethically so they get a fair price for them too. I think they were £5-£10 in the shop.

They are lovely, do they sell online? I put in evolution & of course there's shed loads of stuff

Has anyone stripped the paint from a lloyd loomesque chair? it's an old one & as is usual with them the wicker is completely clogged with paint, I'm not too sure how it like paint stripper & would hate it to fall to pieces. Mind you I guess if it did I may finish my projects by the time I'm 249 if it melts.

hermum, there's a link to their site at the beginning of my post but unfortunately they don't sell online. There's a site finder there tho so there might be one near you?

    Really gorgeous hangings kevie,really sweet.:)

Ok so somebody needs to slap me on the hand as I have been v naughty in the last few days.I have just brought the bombay duck tea pot, sugar pot and milk jug in cream (Sharp intake of breathe)*but in my defense it's so so pretty.:rotfl:

This morning I went to the local junk shop/market for the first time and I was in heaven!I saw so many things which had massive3 potential.I also saw an old school desk which reminded me of a post on here recently and made me smile.Alas I was fairly restrained and brought a 3 tier sewing box (I plan to do it up like icandream did in the last thread)and a lovely overmantle mirror, for both purchases they only wanted 8 pounds-bargain :j

Hermum...i sanded the legs on my lloyd loom chair and then repainted/reupholstered it. I didnt consider stripping it, as it would have been too much work and i didnt want to damage it.
