It's just a loom-esque not the real mccoy. Over the years where it's been painted it's really clogged up. I may do as somone else suggested just the legs & reupholster the cushion to freshen it up.
I love that sofa & chair how gorgeous will that look.

Mine isnt a real lloyd loom either. It was me that just did the legs and reupholstered the cushion. It looks really good now:)

I dither sometimes too and think I could make them cheaper, but not factoring in my time and the hassle - Go for it get em!

You know how we were moaning about charity shops the other day, well the charity shop gods were smiling down on me yesterday and I found these:

I know they are not strictly shabby chic but what they turn into may well be. Got the lot for £1 - I added a bit more as I felt bad. More pics elsewhere.

    what a lush haul:T
i recently got a mixed tin gifted to me
how anyone can part with them i dont know

i poured over them for ages
and then decided to sort ALL my buttons out
i had come into possesion of 40 little plastic boxes, approx 4" x 3"

i spent ages sorting them all into their specific colours

somehow they just dont hold the same excitement as a big mixed jar now:(

Wilf I would buy the curtains. They will go with so many colours (hope that makes sense) and they look lovely. If Im uncertain on something I often think will I still like it this time next year. 2. Could I make it (ans is often no lol) and 3. is it a good bargain. Hopes this helps. x:jI love the smilies now I know how they work:rotfl:

Thanks for all the kind comments on my bathroom bunting......had a tinkering day today and came up with this .....well, every good bathroom needs a beach hut door stop doesn't it?

DH thought I was ever so slightly mad making bunting for it too but it had to be done. :D

  • Hey All,
My first shabby chic post! Have been an avid watcher for a while and can I just say some of the items on here are both beautiful and inspiring!!!
I'm looking for some advice... When I moved into my house I was gifted an ugly but very functional sofa bed. I cant really afford to replace it and actually the sofa bed is very comfy... But the fabric is gross and tatty and the cushions not very comfy!
I thought it would be my ideal first SC project. Only problem is I have no idea where to start!!
Anybody know where the best place to start looking is?? Or anybody done it before. Its a normal sofa bed where the bed bit is within the base of the sofa, and you take the seat cushions off to pull it up and out.
Im very motivated and ambitious but directionless.... :o
Thank you very much in advance to anyone with any good ideas
    Elsie
