You can buy fridge paint too so it must be OK to do. I painted a combi boiler box once and that looked great. Sarsie, can you take some photos, what you've done sounds lovely.0

....... I thought what's the worst that can happen if I paint the fridge... Plenty of pink left after all, wont need many coats over white... Got a sponge roller for gloss... *More beer*... Screw it lets do it... If I end up needing a new fridge so what, this is so ugly I already need a new fridge!
So for 3 hours I painstakingly painted the fridge with my little roller.
It is GORGEOUS. ....snipped....
This rang a bell in my muddled mind, & I spent quite a while tracking it down. SMEG style on a shoestring:

Good morning to you all. I have been MIA for a while I know but have been really busy decorating the living space. I'm really pleased with it, nothing fancy just Dulux Malt Chocolate. Didn't want anything too OTT because my vintage / shabby themed pieces will do the job of that quite nicely!! lol
Great news is that I won this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330435694534&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I'm so pleased. Can't wait to get the paintbrush to it! I also got a nest of 2 dark wood tables for £5 at the car boot and a hand made wooden lamp, which will also be subjected to the paintbrush and a shade make over. I'm thinking red polker dots with white rick rack (says the girl who's only ever sewn buttons and hems!!)
I'm growing with this whole shabby / vintage stuff daily and am relishing the idea of clashing colours and pieces. Will post pics as soon as I have more time.
Well take care all, well done to the house buyers and to all you lovely creative people that keep posting your pics. I love them and find them so inspiring. More More more :j
I too sucombed to the lure of the dotcomgiftshop no postage and am expecting the English Rose placemat's and coasters and a retro tea caddy through the post

everyone has been so busy
i dont post often but i do pour over everyones work every day:D
my "kitchen" is still half kitchen half empty extension
but i have been busy buying:rotfl:
now whilst my kitchen may not be the SC haven i envisioned
my problem i have, i am hoping someone can answer or help me with
my kitchen has always been a high functioning room
i cook, a LOT, so it has always been, ermmmm, a more professional set up than a homely one
hope that makes sense (i am a clean freak, and hate clutter)
now i will have the space to have things for aesthetic purposes rather than purely function
i am in danger of having what looks like a film set though
i dont know whether i am worrying over nothing
i have been buying things with the premiss of "oh that will look nice in there"
but because its an empty space, i only have whats in my head to go by
so i guess my question really is, when it comes to "stuff"
how much is too much?0 -
no such thing, raven! i tend to cook daily too, but i have gone for storage for all my cooking things, and had my pretty things left out on show.
sarsie - show us a pic of your fridge!0 -
I've just finished the first 30 flags on the bunting I'm making. There are 150 in total so we're going to have about 50-60 m.

I'm so pleased it turned out OK as this was the first project started on my sewing machine and the pressure was immense!0 -
Vivki that bunting is beautiful - its on my list of things to do, thanks for the message you left me re. scraps x
I love the painted fridge, I have done that before, I once did the fridge and the washer in lime green about 15 years ago, in my orange kitchen! It seemed like a good idea at the time. My mum brought people I had never met before to see my crazy kitchen.

i've had a wonderful weekend at in-laws. didn't do any patchwork. but i did make this. a heart hanger for the lounge. i am so chuffed . i loved it. didn't take too long about two hours in total. most of that time was the fiddling around working out how i wanted it. matches perfect in my lounge.

Hi, does anyone know if there is anywhere online with a tutorial/pattern to make these? Thanks
