I have a brass dressing table french style mirror (exactly the same as this one I've just found on ebay!!)
I bought it for £1 from a car boot a while ago.
Do you think it would be possible to paint it a creamy/white colour? And if so what paint should I use?
Or do you think that would ruin it? In which case how do I make it nice and shiny again?

I'd use spray paint. If you can take the mirror out, do that first. If the mirror doesn't come out, cover it with newspaper and stick it down with masking tape.
Spray several fine coats of paint on rather than one or two thick coats to avoid drips and runs.0 -
oooo loving the mirror! thats will spray absolutely lovely.
i also had to order from dotcom...:D couldve bought pretty much all the british seaside stuff, but hubby was watchig over my shoulder! ended up buying a key cabinet (to solve lost key issues!) and a print for my kitchen.
also got my dresser mostly done. we had one of the mexican pine side tables but im completely fed up of it so i decided to make it shabby:D
put two coats of laura ashley duck egg blue on it and got some porcelain rose handles from homebase, its looking lovely so far, im really happy with it. soon as its dry and in place, ill take a pic.0 -
