Well my projects are piling up. We are redeocorating our hallway, just had it skimmed now waiting for the plaster to dry out before painting. Last night I won 2 brass chandeliers on Ebay for £24 total. I am going to spray paint them but havent decided on a colour yet. I have a pine chest to sell and a retro chest of drawers that I should never have bought as we have no room for it! Going to take pics of those tomorrow, to put them up for sale. My hall, landing and porch needs 4 lights in total, so 2 down and 2 to go.
Here is my inspiration pic of a painted chandelier

Tiff that chandelier is FABULOUS. Thank you for sharing it. In storage we have some chandeliers I HATE and I have been wondering what to do with them. I love chandeliers (my dream would be to have some antique Murano ones, with insane florals or weird slightly creepy faces) but we have kind of mean little cheap looking ones. I feel so excited now by the idea of making them nice! what sort of paint would work?
Twinkles: I think when one spends a lot of time at home with illness/exhaustion a focus shifts on to it more than it might otherwise. Also home projects can be done on days we feel up to them, or started and finished on another day. It is interesting how much of us have health issues though, I agree. Poor us!0 -
Hi everyone
I've been lurking on this thread for a while now, admiring all of the beautiful things you've created!!
We moved house in November and decorated thoughout but the colours are all very neutral with some dark and bold patterned feature wallpaper. I think this style lends itself well to the shabby chic look, so I want to start some new projects
I'd really like to get a sideboard for my lounge so I've been keeping a lookout on eBay for one but no luck yet.
I am also looking for kitchen 'accessories'... I REALLY like cornishware so I was going to start collecting that but it's very expensive. Can anyone recommend another brand or 'look' I can go for in the kitchen? It's not decorated yet so really a blank canvas.

Kate,
I just took a look at your home page and I hope you dont mind but I will follow your ramblings. I really love your pictures of the things in your kitchen. Especially the chickens! I love chickens. I just bought some Gisela Graham chickens, thanks to JCR showing hers.
Regarding the stool, I think sage green would be really nice. I just passed a shop today that had a welsh dresser in a lovely pale sage green and pine top. It was stunning. Maybe if you get a nice pine stool you could keep the top pine and paint the legs. Then you could also make a little cushion for you DD to sit on when she is tiredSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. I'm going to have to look those Murano ones up now as they sound strange from your description!
Re paint, I'm planning to use gloss spray paint, I've used Rustoleum brand from Homebase before and they have a good range of colours. I spray painted a gold coloured mirror frame for my bathroom“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

Maybe you could try Cornishware lookalikes, i think its called chef ware. Its blue and white striped but without the ridges.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

Frugalista wrote: »hart44 I am intrigued by the butterfly YoYo on your blog. I know you showed a photo of the heart you made - but I see you got a butterfly one too.
Where did you get them from, how much were they and are they easy to use? I was thinking they would be useful to use up small scraps of material. Sorry for the interrogation:o:o.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Frugalista. I got the YoYo's from ebay.

This seller has all sorts and they are very easy to use.
It takes me 4 mins from start to finish to do the little hearts, they come with excellent instructions.
I have not used the butterfly one yet but it looks so simple Im sure it wont be long before I get a load done
I want to get the large heart next and maybe the oval oneGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing
