    I think it is Spud-

For example-DH went to work in a mood with me last night and is in a mood now (over-tired, lol)

    I can
    a) choose to be upset, stomp around, sigh a lot, feel hard done by etc etc

    or

    b) go upstairs, get ready to go out, give him a kiss and say 'hope a rest makes you feel less tired' and get on with my day, a smile on my face.

Why let HIS bad mood ruin MY DAY?

It will only compound and cause an argument.

Skinty-my wellies are amazing but I love them, they are a green tartan kind of pattern, not expensive, from Matalan I think? But they make me happy because they are so 'English' is that daft?

woo hoo! Can i add my bit....

My OH says I have my head buried in the sand and ignore everything bad in the world...well actually I don't. I just don't whinge about what I can't change. A bit like the twelve steps of being an alcoholic...change the things I can and don't whinge about the things I can't. !!!! happens and yes it does shape the person you are today.

You don't 'become' confident you accept yourself for who you are and with that comes the fact that you don't really care what other people think of you cos you like yourself and thats all that matters..

As long as me and mine are healthy I am having a good year!

    Also,

You can run and jump in puddles with wellies on, and that ALWAYS makes me laugh-like Peppa Pig and her family!

Basically, in bluntest terms - stop whingeing, change what you can, accept what you can't, take the decision to be happy.

Which is basically the serenity prayer: “Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

But I still like to whinge...OK, it's usually whingeing for comedy effect, but even so...

My OH has a 'bad' year every year. The world as we know it is coming to an end shortly. He is probably dying from cancer and its just not been diagnosed yet. He will soon be out of work so he has to work 24 hours a day. I will leave him shortly for a younger/richer/fitter/less fat bloke and the property market will collapse and we will 'lose' all our money.

These are his worries on a DAILY basis.......how me and him EVER got together I will never know but we compliment each other - MOST OF THE TIME!

    Morning all!

I was thinking like that about the stuff that has happened at work - I think my boss thought I would be really upset and angry directly with him and he would have to "handle" me but I have been utterly positive at work, its his opinion and he is not God and I can't help anything by being miserable about it. Besides which it mst really annoy him......he he !!!

The next thing I need to deal with is getting overwhelmed by work/interests/responsibilites.

ie constantly thinking I can't finish things etc.

Today as the sun is shining a bit here I am going to burn things.....................

I am so looking forward to it! all my old paperwork and crap

so I shall see you all later - expect me to be soot covered and grinning like a nutter xxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Lol! Indeed Skinty...

I just love having wellies! We never really had them in Canada, just winter boots, which suck.

Sammy-I agree. And I love you too xxxxxx
