I talk to dh about things in life, i talk to my sister, brother and friends..we all seem to think the same when it comes to answers of things..BUT i use this and another forum and when i ask something i am really suprised at the replys tbh and feel i am the only one who feels like i my friends & family do..
Example: (cut down!)
My neighbours kid climbs up and hangs over the fence being very noisy and irratating screaming (repetatively) at our bunnys (he has 4 of his own amongst the hoards of pets), now i am a childminder so am not adverse to kids but i get replys like 'you obviously hate kids' why don't you get rid of the rabbits' 'why dont you move house'??? i mean really is this the way people think nowdays? what happened to keeping kids under control as such?
It MUST be ME!!

Nope, it's not you. It appears to be 'trendy' to lash out at the OP on here. Some lightbulbs are also not very bright.....
But there are good people here too, so please be patient with those who obviously cannot make useful contributions and make allowances for their shortcomings.0 -
I feel like that all the time, maybe not on here but in 'my outside MSE life'!!
I think, at the grand old age of 23, that I'm old fashioned!! I hate people who smoke in their house if they have kids, I don't believe in packing kids off here there and everywhere just to have some 'me time' and I certainly do not believe that just because kids are kids, there is any reason to be rude or spiteful!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

I'd suggest planting fast-growing pointy plants at the point of this obnoxious kid's ingress and, around the bottom of it, a bed of lavender and herbs to keep the kids in your own garden from injuring themselves on it.
Or an unruly water sprinkler for the garden that sprays just there at unpredictable intervals whenever he's leaning over.
Some people seem to think that children should be allowed to be savages because to tame them into regular people somehow stifles them. I don't agree. Parents have a responsibility to make sure their children behave like civilised beings. I'm six months pregnant and someone's idiot child ran into me on her Heelys at the supermarket. The mother accused me of hating children because I told her brat that she could have killed my child with her thoughtlessness and to be more careful next time because there are also smaller kids, old people and other pregnant people who can't get out of the way. Someone else's brat went running rampant whapping strangers with a McDonalds balloon in the train station yesterday. Not acceptable.

I agree with you that it's the parents responsibility to ensure that when their children do wrong and display unacceptable behaviour (which lets be honest all children do at some point to an extent) they are reprimanded and put right - this is the way I am with my own children.
However if my child were to bump into somebody by accident (certainly wouldn't be my child on heely's in a supermarket cos that's just an accident waiting to happen in my opinion - as are heely's in the wrong hands or feetshould I say) then I would reprimand my child appropriately and ensure an apology was offered.
I think if the victim of the accident didn't allow me to do this or referred to my child as a brat or an idiot I might take exception (not saying this was the case with you Sugarspun and I can well imagine the parents who wouldn't displicine their children)
OP - used to have the same problem with our next door neighbours and the parent's didn't want to know or care when I politely approached them.
We ended up avoiding the garden when he was out there as he was very difficult to ignore!

According to my M-I-L to be I 'hate' her grandson because I told him dont to kick me in the leg at the kitchen table. I have been forever banned from the home since! Some people feel the rain...others just get wet0

Do you have kids?
Yeah I've got a wee girl of 17months and another due in 4weeks.
My daughter has never spent a night away from me (the only night she's spend away from her dad was when he left the hosp to go home) as I firmly believe that kids are the parents responsibility.Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10
