well here we go,ive now ignored the next set of demands from cps limited where the charge ballooned from 50-80 pounds and the letter stated that i had 7 days to pay before legal; action commenced,i am expecting 2 lovely letters from these ,charlatans tomorrow,is the opinion of the members on this forum to continue ignoring them?also i have a friend who is a bailiff and he informed me that these guys who work for these companies have no real regulations and advised me to pay, as in his words, ill come out from work or the shops and ill have a clamp on my car which wont be released until i have paid the fine, their fee, release fee, etc, what are my legal rights if this does happen?

    Complete and utter tosh.

Plenty of grade-A advice and info here:

Incl exactly what they can and can't do in relation to your car/other properrty and what they have to go through first to get there. None of which will happen over a private parking ticket.

    How about following the regulations?

Good idea. What regulations, exactly, have been broken?
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything
  • If you are really worried about this, spend the £80 buying a good 18 volt cordless angle grinder, keep it charged and in the boot of your car (along with a cheap pair of safety specs), and get in a bit of practice chopping through clamp-shaped metal with it before you need to use it in anger.

thats not a bad idea, and i would love to see the faces on the goons that would place it on,on a more serious note,i still havent had my 3dr round of demanding letters from this company, they are now overdue and i am expecting some severe letters, which i fully expect to be so over the top for the so called'offence' that was commited,i feel like a proper criminal, and all ive done is park my car,bet its cheaper to burgle a house!!!!
  • just had the postman deliver 2 letters today, with the heading of 'legal action pending'and if i dont pay within 7 days legal action will commence and the fee has now risen to 120 pounds,i am also informed that further costs will be added,i will have a debt registered against myself, and will find it difficult tio obtain credit in the future!!!Looking at the letter which has been sent today,it looks really bad in quality, they must issue hundreds and its all been done on an automated computer. There is only a po box number address for correspondence.
Ive got a special filing place for these 2 letters, right in the bin!!!
And why do i feel like a criminal?i pay my taxes, never been in trouble with the law,i can see why so many people pay the fee,and i really hope they follow through with their threat and take me to court,id love to see one of their representatives face to face!!!!

Read it again - does it say 'will' or does it state 'may' or 'could'? Perhaps in the way I may win the lottery on Saturday?

    I got my
    **FINAL REMINDER BEFORE LEGAL ACTION**

in this last week or so. I'm am now wondering if my next letter is going to be a court summons or should I be expecting a final final reminder and final final final reminder after that? I'm hoping for more fancy fontwork personally.
  • Remembering that these "charge notices" are in fact invoices, the haste seems a bit indecent. Its barely 3 weeks since I got mine. Most invoices are payable in 30 days :-) I'm not sure the Court is going to be too impressed by their impatience.......
  • Hi there guys, I received a parking fine from CPS on Saturday for Delaware services they say I was there for 2hr 53 and have photographic evidence. I am told I have to pay £50 by the 23rd April or it increases. I was with some friends who dont seem to have recieved a ticket.
I stopped as I was towing a small caravan and have had some health problems so had to pull over get a drink and try to put my head down for a bit.
I am a single woman and am really poor I really cant afford this fine. Im worried sick about it (cant sleep) I have never been in trouble before and want to know your advice on what to do?
I have searched the web it seems there are a lot of angry people out there with regard to this company.
    Please help???????
    Thanks in advance
