I'll have the gas and air in the house - I don't consider that drugs in the same way as the harder stuff although I still plan to try and do without it - but nothing else. I just feel that the other drugs can affect the baby's ability to feed straight after birth and i don;t want to 'drug' my baby in that way, although it's fine for other people, it's not a choice I want to make. And if they aren;t available then I can;t have them!

Sorry for all the questions, just I don't know anyone that has gone for a fully natural labour,

But are you OK with the prospect that you may have to go into hospital if there are any complications? Or if you have to have a section for some reason?

    I did it with 'just' G&A :D
My friend had an unplanned totally drug/gas free birth at home in sept :D I'll go find a pic (not a gory one!)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Well, I'm OK with it in the sense that should something go drastically wrong, then I'll have to have it! But my plan is to minimise the risk of creating a situation where I need that kind of intervention by going for the natural birth and not letting the medical people interfere in what my body wants to do.

But of course, should something go wrong and I need to be rushed to hospital, I'll have to do that, although I know I will be gutted.

Mostly though, home births remain at home and go fine, the same as most other births. I'm low risk and therefore a good candidate, and I guess all I can do is hope I get the birth I want, the same as everyone does.

On another subject, does anyone know how much natural yoghurt you should eat and how often, to treat/prevent thrush? My MW recommended it and I've just scoffed 450g of the stuff in one go (!) but I'm not sure what the recommended amount is?
