O- is universal in that anyone can receive it - both O and the (-) are 'recessive' and so any A/ B/ AB & (+) people can have it without fear. Because of this it is always mega in demand, as hospiatls will use O neg straight off on emergency cases before crossmatching for a 'proper' blood match.
I'm O neg too. OH is O+ and we have 2 O+ children and 1 O- child - so we shall see what this one ends up being

I'm A-! Hubby is O+, so there is possibility of the Rhesus problem with the baby, but not really a big deal. I like my blood type, as it's one of the less common ones

Jillie - sorry didn't mean to alarm you!
It's just that am going back full time after 6 months and the waiting lists are long enough that I need to be thinking about it now. I got details of day nurseries off our county council website, though I don't think it covered all the options (am sure there are more than 6 in our market town)
we've got appointments to see 2, the montessori and a private one but the latter is about twice as expensive as the uni nursery. DH loves the idea of being able to have breakfast with Cub and drop her off at nursery in town (he couldn't do that with the uni one) but not sure it's worth twice the cost! The LEA ones don't take til 3 years so they're out.MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Tine, you won't be able to donate until the Roo is 9m old... I tried to donate but was told with my veins it was pointless!! My aunt donated as much as she could get away with before she started chemo... Not sure how long she'll have to leave it before she can donate again...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I had a really indulgent day yesterday, googling maternity wear sites, and treating myself to some new clothes, as a lot of the maternity stuff I bought in the earlier days is now too small, or getting that way. I don't remember that happening with my other two pregnancies, so either the way they make them these days is rubbish, or I am, as I fear, absolutely enormous already! Now just have to look forward to the postie coming over the next week! For those who fancy being completely decadent, two of the designer suppliers (isabella oliver and seraphine) both have really good online sales on at the moment, which brings their stuff down to normalish prices. I was lucky enough to be given a few pieces by a friend and they really are well cut and make you feel special. I got a pair of seraphine jeans in their online sale for £22 yesterday and they'll probably sell for that on ebay when I'm finished with them.
I also registered with the nappy lady and got my recommendations for nappies this morning, so am off to have a good look at what she suggests. Has anyone used this service before, and if so, were you happy with what was recommended? Don't really want to fork out £250 for a system on her recommendation if in fact its rubbish for my kid when he or she is born.
20 week scan on Friday. Seems to have come round quick!
Good luck and labour vibes to all who are feeling uncomfortable and more than ready to go!0 -
Nicki, be interested to see how Nappy Lady turns out. We're strongly leaning towards cloth diapers right now and without anyone local to make recs, this is the only way I know of to get some advice!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

You three are still here?! I thought all those labour vibes would have all of those little bundles agitating to get out as soon as they could possibly manage it.

also bring home recycling bottles from office
buy wrapping paper
tidy area around computer

a question...when do the cravings start to kick in? Is it any time or not really until later? I've had this MASSIVE craving for Doritos lately (something which I normally like, but never so much that I actually CRAVE them, if you know what I mean), but at 8 weeks it seems early!
I've told OH it's prolly just me being a pig
