OMG I am 10th on the list!! I can remember being at the bottom!

    Congratulations Shell!

Hope every one has had a good weekend. :D

We have constructed our cot... to discover we are missing 2 fixtures. Well it was second hand. So have emailed the original company to see if they will let us have the fixtures.

SM - you'll get through it honey, I have no idea how my mum used to manage to feed all 4 of us coz my dad's job was awful back then he used to get laid off for at least 2 weeks every January and both times she was pregnant they were homeless at some point of the pregnancy - thank god they had family coz they'd have been out on the streets otherwise!!

Hi all.. Tea's nearly ready - roast beef and all the trimmings :D

We somehow managed a big trolley full of stuff in Tesco despite having no kitchen of our own to put it in - oops! We got OH's knife set, some pricey magazines (which to be fair he needs to help with his money-making hobby - website designing) and lots of snacky foods to keep my sickness at bay. Also bought some toiletries for my hospital bag - new toothbrush for now and one for my bag, plus toothpaste which was on BOGOF, and then two tubes of OH's toothpaste on offer.. looked like we have a dental hygiene obsession!!

Finally, bought two little outfits for Bob - really soft dungarees and tshirt set with lion on, which may turn out to be his going home outfit, and linen trousers with roll up legs and stripy shirt set in 0-3 size.. so gorgeous!

Ten weeks til I meet him! :D *getting impatient now*

    Oh, tea's ready.. TTFN xx

SM - I wouldn't worry - you live to what u can afford.
I am pooing myself because my half of the bills and my outgoings such as car and mobile are just over £1000 per month!
So even though my mat leave fund looks bigger it won't last long at all :(
I just intend on shopping at different supermarkets to get best deals, meal planning and batch cooking and freezing and you're right - god bless noodles I get 7p ones for my lunch :rotfl:I'll spend less on fuel as well which will help plus the added CB and ?CTC or WTC.

Also, we don't know about OH's future from June onwards so any savings that he has will go towards paying his own half of the bills.

Just had beef as well - elle! It was very nice - never cooked Brisket before.
Fell asleep straight after it so have indigestion now and just went for a poo and it was so big it made my bum bleed :o

Baby fund over here looks healthy but like Glam then my outgoings are pretty hefty... Around the £1000 a month for bills, loans etc
So when I drop to SMP that saving fund is going to vanish pretty sharpish. It will mean I have to rely on an alternative income for a bit (which I am thankful I can!) and scrimp and save on everything else.
We may have a great combined income but we also have a grand combined lot of outgoings! :(

    Debt-free and Proud!
We're lucky. We have 6k saved up approx, and can live on OH's wage and still save £400 a month, so we should be OK as long as he doesn't lose his job.

Mind you, I'm thinking private school from age 11 as a definite must so we will need every penny we can save! Plus I want to have at least one more fairly quickly before I get too old.

    roadkill

hedgehog stew or pigeon pie for tea? :rotfl:

MrsT - I just wish I had started saving sooner. I have been managing to easily save £250 each month but before January I was in my overdraft most months (only by a few quid thou).
I have always lived to what I can afford -
last 6 months of 2008, I would buy takeaways and stuff for the house. Treats for me and OH whenever we wanted them.
2009 - have cut all this out, I make a curry instead of buying and fortunatley don't need anything else for the house except in an emergency - cooker breaking etc.
