I am sitting here trying to make a card for one of my friends, and was wondering.... are any of you planning on sending birth announcements, or thank you cards for all the presents you are going to get ?

I asked that the other morning but no one answered
I was thinking of doing it for the distant rellies and the grandparents who I know will find out by phone anyway but who would like "something to remember the occasion by".. My Grandma made me a "This Is Your Life" style photo album for my 18th and there was one of my birth annoucements in there.

My friend writes little letters from her little boy as thankyou notecards for every birthday and Christmas. Always a little picture of him on the front from the day - wearing a party hat, blowing out candles, opening presents in front of the tree etc. They're lovely - I've kept them all for inspiration

MM what all of 2 thank you cards :rotfl: thats all that the people that are getting me things and i already got one (my egg) so said thank you in person ... my step SIL gave me a few things but it was either me or the bin dont have anyone apart from me and OH ....

I scrapbook everything, so that is why I am thinking of doing them again this time, as I did them for Jasmine, but am not sure if any one does them any more, as none of my friends sent any when their little ones were born.

Haven't had them listen to the heartbeat before so wasn't sure what it involved. I had the triple blood test and nuctal scan, they use both at my hospital to predict risk but I already got the scan result so know I'm low risk for downs.

We will send out thank-you cards, but may take a while for me to remember to do it!

OK, so not everyone will have lots of cards to give out !!!!!:o

Me and OH both have rather large families, and all of them will at least send a card to say congrats even if there is no gift, so I sort of feel that I should send them an announcement card of some sorts, but will do them on a neutral card so I can get them all ready before, and will just need to add the name !!!!

my family either dont have the money or dont give a poop and OH's family are more you made the kid you pay for him ... and most of our friends are either broke or dont care enough (as i say if they dont have a kid they dont generally understand) so just us x

I've always liked just us, OH's family will all visit but it's a bit false.

to be honest im the same no one get involved and i always use to feel on edge everytime i saw my family and OHs family are nice and his bro used to come round all the time but i like it just being us x
