Congrats Icklebean & mr icklebean on your two new arrivals!
Sugarspun your comment about a wierd shaped head gracing the top of a neck has had me in a giggle fit for at least 15mins, don't know why but it amused my little brain!
I had midwife pop round yesterday which we weren't expecting cue rushed panic picking up the dirty plates from the fry up we had just eaten and taking them out to the kitchen, spraying air fresher and closing the kitchen door quickly!! No wonder my blood pressure was a little higher than they'd like!! She's coming back today as they want to check my blood pressure again, hope this baby hurries up bored of visits and waiting around for the midwife to turn up.
TMI ALERT!!! Although I'm not sure but I think my waters may have started to leak, I'm having to wear a pad as its all getting a bit dribbly down there!! The midwife told me to have a smell of the towel (yuck!) which I did in the end and don't think its tiddle
oh !!!! she's here:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

On the subject of waters breaking, with DS i actually heard them pop, it was like that noise if you pull your finger from inside your cheek.
I was laid in bed reading baby magazines and remembered reading that you could sometimes hear them go and i went and sat on the toilet for a few minutes.
Nothing happened so i was on my way back to bed when they gushed everywhere
I ran downstairs to ring my mum and it was still coming out then (and i had no stair carpet cos i'd just moved in) She told me to go back to bed as nothing would happen for ages (it was 1:15am) but i said well i'll ring labour ward and see what they say. Labour ward told me to go in to be checked over.
I rang mother back and she said grrr i bet nothing happens til tomorrow anyway.. I said well you never know, can you come over and help me pack my hosp bag?! (I was only 2 days early and hadn't packed it for some reason) She was here by 2am (taxi) and i started feeling the most immense pain ever, rather than the contractions i'd read about, i wasn't having a break between pain and my 'show' had happened, lots more blood than i was expecting!
She rang a taxi to take us to hospital as she doesn't drive, and it almost left without us as we didn't know it was there (he parked down the street!).
I got to hospital at 2:30am-ish and collapsed on the floor outside shouting noooooo it hurts!!! My mum said come on it can't be that bad surely u can walk?!
Porter came and wheelchaired me to the top floor, where the mw also went on to tell me it couldn't be as bad as i was making out and to calm down!
I kept saying i felt like i needed a poo(!) so they kept sending me to the toilet for one (never happened). They gave me pethidine at about 3am which they said takes 20-30mins to kick in.
Then i started saying i needed to push but they didn't check my dilation at this point and said no you don't need to push yet  She checked me soon after and said "oh your 10cm no wonder you're in lots of pain" :rotfl:
DS was born at 3:16amSome stitches, mum cut the cord. They sent me to shower and pethidine kicked in - felt like i'd been drinking vodka all day :rotfl:

Have to say, I'm always amazed by women who go out into town once they're overdue.. I'm sooo gonna hole myself up at home from 39+4 until I leave the house for hospital!
(due to being scared of something happening in the middle of Tesco, I mean!)
I started labour with ds in Tescoswaters didn't go thank god (they went on midwifes face just before he was born lol) I didn't actually click that I was in early labour..just thought I had abit of tummy ache!
Yay to Ickle on the twinnies!! xlove my little man he is amazing :j0 -
Beanie - Why is it MWs never beleive you!?!?
If I say I wanna push, I WANNA PUSH godammit!!
Mine was quick with Chris not quite as quick as you but still..
My best mummy friend on the other hand went to the bank to pay a bill while she was in labour :rotfl: it needed doing so she chucked her toddler in the car and went to pay the bill while having contractions every 15mins - bonkers!0 -
Well, my cat is a bit brighter today - its going to be slow progress but i am happier.
And the bean seems to be hanging on in there for the moment (no more spotting or cramps) - which i am delighted about too.
i am abit furious with oh though:mad: It is very early days yet and i am just being sensible and taking it a day a time as i said before - anyway we decided to only tell a few close family members and tell the rest if i make it to 12 weeks. He only went and told his work colleagues and whilst he is very quiet and sullen with me (you would think he was at a funeral) he has been chatting away to them about which nappies to use, prams and all things baby related. He works in a local reatil outlet which our friends and family use so the chances of them overhearing all this baby talk is high. I expect it is the pregnancy hormone starting to kick in and i am just being oversensitive:o0 -
jha maybe he is also aware of the risks in early pregnancy and doesn't want to make baby talk such a big part of home life, just in case?0

Maybe, i just dont know.0
