Morning all
Was good & had a bowl of Special K about 8 o'clock, but am starving now! The way I feel, I think I'll just have what I want & stuff everyone else in this house! Yesterday started well, wanted to go to town by myself for a change, but DH needed to do something, so took toddler with me, went to work in the aft, got all ironing done, cos DH had said on Friday (after a long moan from me!) that we were going out last night. Turns out he'd forgotten, teenage DS was going out & wouldn't change plans, came out like it was MY fault for not saying. Sat night spent in silence cos I was so cross/upset, DH gone out this morning, not seeming to think there's any problem - we've not been out by ourselves for more than 6 months, feel like I'm the one trying to start conversations all the time, no effort from him, he won't talk about the baby....*%£$*^%:eek:
So sorry, girls, must be just me, cos DH doesn't think it's a big deal. Just want to sit here & cry, but little un keeps saying 'mummy sad?' so can't even do that! Sorry, know some of you have real problems, but no one to talk to here, cos we've not told anyone about the baby yet, prob mostly hormones, but bl00dy annoying all the same!Feel free to kick me up the pants or say stop moaning!!
A xo

Are we relaying breakfast tales still, or have we moved onto elevenses?
Had cereal and tea early on (aren't I good!), before wandering out to the Sunday market - I seem to have my energy burst first thing in the morning.
Just snacked on Monster Munch (other crisp products are available) and a yoghurt - mixing the bad with the good!:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Im still here. 4 cancelled inductions as too busy. - They have now been upfront and said its too busy until Wednesday. So sent me home from hospital yesterday and asked me to have a home birth or go to next hospital 30 miles away if things speed up. ive been having contractions 5 minutes apart for 3 days now. Some very mild, others strong enough to take my breath away. The community midwife is coming around today to give me my 3rd sweep in the hope it will speed things up.
Im so annoyed. I was being induced at 37 weeks to stop further damage to my back and pelvis. Im feeling a new problem every day now and feel so bitter that if i had the induction on the day it was booked i could avoid this damage which will take years to repair.
BUT, its not the hospitals fault its so busy. The ward has been closed to anyone in labour for 3 days now, yesterday there were 6 inductions and 3 c-sections booked in with 4 midwives - not to mention the 3 in labour from inductions the day before! Baby boom at its best!0 -

I'm sorry? What do they expect people to do, shove a bloody cork in it? :rotfl:
I'm new to this game .... is it normal for hospitals to close labour wards when they're busy? What the 'eck happens then?

Code that seems so ridiculous - is there no hospital nearby that they could/should be transferring people to?? You would think they'd arrange for some care for those in need, like you, even if it means sending you to a nearby private hospital!
[edit] sorry just realised it's 30m away0 -
Tigster - they either send them to other hospitals or if an utter emergency they will have to deliver in non-delivery suites... I'm so glad that the JR has 12 delivery suites and another 3 midwife led ones on the top floor. Chances of it closing for admissions is unlikely as there is a whole building (7 floors) dedicated to womens health so loads of midwives...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
This is my 4th baby and have never heared of them closing the ward. But its happened! my booked induction on the 29th was cancelled due to being full, so was rolled on to the next day. cancelled again! but next morning before i could go in, my waters gushed so i went in and they gave me a bed. Turned out to be my hind waters, and after 24 hours i hadnt progressed at all so sent home on what would have been try 4 of a induction. So induction is next booked in for 7 days after first booking - unless anything happens before hand.
I've been talked in to a home birth as there wont be room, if things do speed up.
ladies have been in labour, got to hospital then told going to have to drive to next hospital. Living in very west wales its a long way between each one.
very scary for a first timer. My last baby was a 15 minute labour, so im probably better off at home anyway! But, 3 days and not progressing in to established labour - im exhausted.0 -
I hope i don't encounter a full labour ward, my nearest other hospital has a bad reputation for giving birth in, and the next closest is Middlesbrough which isn't far and is a nice hospital but i don't know if our car will be alive by then0
