    Well, it just gets worse.
Midwife just phoned, hospital has told local midwives not to do sweeps today as they cant take any emergencies from labour.

The hospital 30 miles away - has closed the maternity ward too as full. Next hospital is then 50 miles from here.

Wonder if hubby fancies watching the home birth you tube tutorial then some nookie?!

This is my 4th baby and have never heared of them closing the ward. But its happened! my booked induction on the 29th was cancelled due to being full, so was rolled on to the next day. cancelled again! but next morning before i could go in, my waters gushed so i went in and they gave me a bed. Turned out to be my hind waters, and after 24 hours i hadnt progressed at all so sent home on what would have been try 4 of a induction. So induction is next booked in for 7 days after first booking - unless anything happens before hand.
I've been talked in to a home birth as there wont be room, if things do speed up.
ladies have been in labour, got to hospital then told going to have to drive to next hospital. Living in very west wales its a long way between each one.
very scary for a first timer. My last baby was a 15 minute labour, so im probably better off at home anyway! But, 3 days and not progressing in to established labour - im exhausted.
 I can't beleive how poorly they have treated you!! My waters went as first sign of labour with Chris, I chose to come home and they said I had to take my temp every 4 hours (gave me loads of temp strips) to make sure there was no infection and a MW would be out to me twice a day until I needed to go back in

No nookie for you as waters have gone there would be risk of infection.

I was also told that if I hadn't given birth within 2 days of waters going they would prefer me to go in and be induced due to the infection risk etc of less water being in there.
Thankfully I was back in hosp with a baby in my arms before I even needed to take my first temp reading :p
I'm hopeing for home birth this time and will possibly have 3 MWs all to myself!
Not sure where everyone will go as it will be ME (obviously) OH, Chris, My Mum, 2MWs and a student MW - I might have to put a buffet on!:rotfl:

Ps glad you newbies have avvy's now its much easier to spot whos who :)

Ooh Tia, good on your hubby... Least you won't have to worry once this one is born! (I did just read a story in my Mum's take a break or something about a bloke who had it done then got gangrene in the general area... I'd keep an eye on him lol)

Better not tell him that! I'd have to sue them!!! :rotfl:

Going to collect a natures nest later on!!!!! :j:j:j For free!!! :T So that means I now have a rocking crib, a moses basket and stand, a carry cot and a hammock.... but no cot :rotfl:The lil lady is spoilt!

Krystal, the Katie crib is sweet! The tripod one is nice, but too large for my tastes.

Code-a-holic, that is disgusting! They will have known that this would be a busy time so why didn't they call in extra help?! They are putting mother and babies lives at risk by tell you all to stay at home and what? cross your legs? Is anyone monitoring baby to make sure he/she is not in distress?

You might find that your skin is more sensitive and that you end up with uneven dark patches, and there's some ongoing research into the idea that too much UV exposure is linked with folic acid deficiency because UV light breaks down the folic acid. I'd get a spray tan instead, but even then get a patch test because you might react differently while pregnant.
