Dont know ihstress. If you put in your post code it will tell you yes or no that you can get free broadband. I think about 85% of the country can get it.
You could try looking on quidco.com or some of the other cash back sites to see if talktalk are offering any special deals.
You may want to pm the talktalk rep who is on this thread now with your questions? Just above your last posting on here?0 -
Quick update: I have just joined TalkTalk and 'gone live'. Can anyone on talk talk tell me if I need to take on their security package (F Secure). I have been offered it free for the first month but don't want to download it if it's not necessary.
Also a daft question, do I keep the router plugged in all the time, or just when using the computer?
Thanks.0 -
Dont pay for anti virus, go to something like trial pay, buy some ink or a something small and get a free year of Kaspersky internet security suite0

You can do either-personally I keep mine plugged in all the time as it keeps a more stable connection but some people do unplug it. Personal choice really-if you're the type who likes every appliance unplugged before you go to bed or you'd worry -then it's fine to do.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

AVG is just a free anti virus nothing else, Kaspersky which is the leading av has put together a total internet suite. TBH AVG has gone way down in its quality in the last year or two with many people dumping it.
With trial pay you can get items for nothing or buy things like ink, which I need anyway from inkclub, from whom I buy it anyway - hence it cost me nothing.0 -
Have managed to set up my wireless connection with Talk Talk finally (after wasting alot of time trying to connect to the internet via the TalkTalk Connect icon on the desktop - doh!).
I now need to find out how do I go about securing my wireless connection? When I phoned TalkTalk to ask how to secure my network they just said that this was fine as I had Norton.
Is this correct, or is securing the wireless connection something different?
Hoping someone can help, please.0 -
Quick update to say that I managed to secure my wireless connection (I actually found details in the 'helper for Apple Mac Users' booklet from TalkTalk which seemed to contain more information than the Vista one they also provided!). This mirrored suggestions I found on the techie forum to try 192.168.1.10

Well done, I cant even remember how I did mine now. I think I asked a techi on one board on another forum and fumbled my way through it somehow0
