  • Metered water attracts standing charges that can be 5 times higher than water usage. The same applies to sewage charges. Water usage should be charged at a single rate per unit with no standing charges. Low users should be encouraged and not penalised.
    1. Letting/Management Agencies should be regulated to prevent them making ridicules charges/ additional charges (Administrative costs) to tenants. The agencies work for the landlords, so the landlords should pay for any admin extra costs.
OK, so some landlords would put up the rent to compensate but now tenants will be able to compare like-with-like with no additional shocks. Maybe landlords would then shop around to get the best deal driving admin charges out.

Tenants get fleeced too often. Lets give them more protection.

Stop online car insurers from making it very difficult to cancel premium renewal, when changing to another insurer. Card provider is unable to block payment.
  • Make online retailers show P&P/Carriage charges BEFORE asking for debit/credit card details.
Most sites do this, but a small minority try to hide excessive charges until the last stage of the transaction.

It's had coverage on radio and online newspapers (ironically, that's how I cam across it).

Use the internet to set up a personal website for each citizen that would be linked to their National Insurance number, and would give everyone the ability to vote for basic motions that went before the House of Commons.

It would also be used to allow voting during all elections which would end low voter turn-out.

We currently trust the internet to buy and sell goods and services worth billions each year, why not our vote and political opinions?

Make it law that tenants are given a month notice if there house/property is being repossessed (ie if the Landlord has failed to pay the mortgage).

Regulate sell-and-rent-back schemes for properties - it's a good idea but needs regulation to work properly.
