My instruction book doesn't mention using extra yeast, just that you have to use 'active' yeast, and doesn't give a particular recipe, so I'll give that a go. Just nice to know that if I'm my usual forgetful self I can get a decent sandwich loaf for his lunchbox if needs be!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I have just been given a Cookworks 11597 breadmaker, was going to buy a panny but money just doesn't allow me to at the moment, so will make my first attempt using this - but I don't have a manual for it and no clue as to how a breadmaker works.

I can't seem to find a manual online for it either. Does anyone have a manual for this model, or can anyone give me any idea what to do with it

    Thanks.

Thanks Penny, having a look just now. I did a search but didn't come up with anything, hopefully there will be something on that thread!

Edited to add, just found a scanned copy of the manual for this breadmaker online.....

Just in case anyone else is looking for it too!

  • I bought a morphy richards breadmaker a few weeks ago but all the bread turns out darker on the botom half, with denser texture and the crust is holey and the top half is paler in colour, lighter texture and a normal looking crust.
I thought this was a fault as it hapened to all 8 loaves i made, and when i was given alterations to the recipe by their help line. So i bought a cookworks one instead but still the same thing happens.

    Can anyone help?

I had something electrical from Cookworks and would never buy from them again. I think it was a kettle or something but it was absolute rubbish and would never buy from them again. I have started making bread with a food processor and it has turned out fine and can use it for other meals as well.
  • Hi, Argos have a Cookworks breadmaker on offer and I want to get one for my DD for Christmas. It says is makes jam and cakes too. Is it any good? I have a Breville BM which is ok, but thought this one might be good for her as it's smaller (there's only 2 of them). I'm slowly getting her to be more OS and she's doing ok so thought this would help! What do you think?

    Thanks.
