He got told yesterday that he was approved, and was offered a £450 cash advance, which he refused, along with the PPI, his rate is 39% or something similar, we'll know more when we get the paperwork and card in a week or so.

So, I know that this is a bit long, sorry for that, but this is the first time I have told anyone this stuff. I really just wanted to say thank you all.:T

£500 limit then, I had exact same happen to me and got £500 limit.

I was given the address to write an appeal letter for an overdraft from HSBC to the manager of the service quality team, so I wrote this. Will get it posted tomorrow.
    To Whom It May Concern:

Within the last few weeks, I have made an application online for an overdraft of £100, however the application was declined due to Credit Scoring. I monitor my credit report from both Equifax and Experian, and I have no adverse or bad data registered against me. The only negative aspect of my credit report is my limited credit history. All of my credit accounts have been paid on time, and no payments have been missed, as you can see from the credit check from when I applied for an overdraft.

I have attempted to go into my local branch to appeal the overdraft decision before writing to you, as posted on your website, however the local branch refused to even sit down and talk to me, let alone ask why I wanted an overdraft or other such questions. I was simply told they would not look into this and to try again in a few months.

I understand that you must assess all customers who you lend to by how much of a risk they are, however since I have had my account 9 months with you now (I also previously had a children’s account with you), I’m sure from looking at my account, you will see that the account has been run perfectly, in credit with my salary paid in every month from my main job, as well as multiple other credits from my part-time job and DLA. I also have a regular and flexi savings account with you.

I would appreciate if you could reconsider your decision to decline me an overdraft facility on the basis that I have run my account very well and have been a good customer to HSBC. The reason I have asked for a small overdraft is to cover myself in the unlikely event that I need to cover a Direct Debit or payment before payday, or other such similar situations. I am also currently on a gap year before University in 2010, and would be looking to have a student account with you next year.

I hope you can reconsider your decision to offer me an overdraft facility.

    Kind Regards

Flybe is not officially classed as a sub-prime card. My credit limit started off at £3000 and was raised to £3900 over the course of 6months or so. The interest rate is 24% (I think), which I realise is quite high but nothing compared to my now defunct Vanquis which was 49%

If you find that your history is suitably repaired, why don't you give MBNA's Play.com card a bash, you might be pleasantly surprised.

  • just got a letter from sky card about o/h 's account.
she is fairly maxed out so it surprised me.
from oct it will change to a barclaycard gold matercard ,with that cards terms.
also a slight reduction in apr.
i thought they would close it knowing how barclaycard act at the momment.
still surprises me she got that sky 16% card because it was a month after she got her barclaycard initial card @27%

  • Hi There,

Virgin do report account conduct to Equifax.

I requested my payment date as the 1st of the month and this was granted.

I would ASSUME that it would be from the date of installation.

REMEMBER your first bill you will be charged twice.

    just received it

why am i being charged twice?
