I didn't appeal! I was going to but then read on here that very few people have any success with them after appealling!

So I just left it! I have the account now but don't use it!

Request the search to be removed then......

Already have requested the search be removed!

I applied for an account with O/D and CC.

I got an email saying my account was successful but they couldn't offer me an O/D and if I had applied for a CC it woudl be cancelled!

Cool, they may give you difficulty removing the search as they offer a CC when you are accepted for O/D.....

    Hi Mate

Just to clarify if it is a current account only one credit search is undertakern

and if you do current account + CC then it is 2 credit searches. Even though in the application form you only type in your details once and select the products you also want e.g. overdraft, credit card?

    Folks,

I have just noticed something about linked addresses being bad?
I lived in a flat for 2 years with a weird address and so most organisations spelt it / formatted it differently. I have 80 linked addresses on Experian but they're all for the same place! Advice please?!?!?!

I think First Direct are one of the only banks that do one check on application.

On occasion some banks may show conditional offers as soon as your account has been opened.

If they are all from different providers you will have some issues. Reason being is that CRA are just "bookkeepers" They only act on the information given to them from the lenders. The CRA will only amend something if the lender contacts them except in EXTREME circumstances.

If there are multipal address variances from the same lender you can request the additions to be removed.

No mate, they only did ONE search for me, even though I applied for a Current Account with O/D and CC! They may search twice for other though, I don't know! I have just checked again and they have definitely only checked ONCE on my Experian and NONE on my Equifax :)

It is correct that First Direct also do one search! As do (I believe) HSBC (being the same company).

    Hope this helps
