thats me paid off my vanquis account and closed it aswell. am happy now
I paid mine off a few weeks ago and closed it. They updated my file as Settled yesterday. Just paid off Aqua... waiting for the payment to go through (few days), then I'll close it on the 19th as long as CapitalOne up my limit (4th statement).0 -
well my account isnt exactly closed yet but will be once payment has cleared but here is the problem 2 months ago i ordered a replacement card and they closed the old account and marked as settled on my file. then opened a new account for this card but its only vanquis that has done this as i did this with all my CCs. Not sure if should leave it open to get the green zeros but dont spend on it and give the CC to my OH half to keep safe?0

A question about credit reports....
I believe that renting has a negative impact on credit score and being a home owner has a positive impact?
I have recently moved from rented (and furnished) accomodation into my own home. Will my credit worthiness have gone up or down?
I'm asking as curious. I'm not applying just yet as NID is helping me getting rid of a default.
Oh and for the vigilant people out there. Yes I managed to get a decent mortgage even though I have a default!0 -
Sent off the forms the other day. I did put 'No' when it asked 'Do you want an overdraft' when applying, as from my past experience, if I say yes and do not meet the criteria for the overdraft, they decline the whole application.
I phoned and was told it was all going through and had been accepted, they're just processing my signed paperwork. Once I get it all setup, I'll apply for an overdraft and see what they say.
Good luck, I had a run in with NW when I was about 15 and they closed my account so I better not apply againBank Accounts - Barlcays Premier[/B] - £1000 o/d, HSBC - £200 o/d- First Direct - £500

Maximum of 25% of net annual income after deducting tax and annual repayments on other debts.
It's as accurate a guess as you'll get without a lot more information - noticed your posts goings unanswered so thought I'd jump on to help, will leave you in the capable hands of the other SP'ers now.
The reality is nobody on the forum can tell you for sure. For a 9k car loan, I would start with my bank for the lowest APR. Car dealers may be able to arrange finance but it'll be a higher APR. And the sub-prime car finance companies (if they still exist) will charge crazy APR and require a kidney.
If you're really stuck, you could always try www.zopa.com where I've saw some people listing loans for cars. Whether lenders will give you the money or not depends entirely on what you put in your listing."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0
