I had a curious thing in the post today.
I am currently challenging a PayDay loan debt. I say I have paid it (I have provided them proof in way of a bank statement) and they say I haven't. It has been passed to 2 or 3 debt collection agencies. This morning I got a new one but it was strange. I would pay part of the debt off and they they would transfer the rest to a credit card. The limit would be £100 and the debt would sit there at 0% for the life of the balance. The credit card is operated by Raphael's Bank - the same lot who do/did Monument

What would happen if I had a twin brother, who has the same name as me, same DOB and living at the same address? How would the CRA's be able to distinguish between us both?
Twin wouldn't have the same name muppet :rotfl::rotfl:
Come on mate - you know that! :beer:I would imagine they would ask for copies of your birth certificates and they put a reference to the time of your birth after your name, mine would be 20:28
Can't see too many other ways of doing it.
They wouldn't get involved, it would be quite simply a new credit file for each brother but regardless, they would not have the same name throughout (i.e. John Michael Smith and Michael John Smith).....2010 - year of the troll

A question about credit reports....
I believe that renting has a negative impact on credit score and being a home owner has a positive impact?
I have recently moved from rented (and furnished) accomodation into my own home. Will my credit worthiness have gone up or down?
I'm asking as curious. I'm not applying just yet as NID is helping me getting rid of a default.
Oh and for the vigilant people out there. Yes I managed to get a decent mortgage even though I have a default!
Being a home owner shows stability mate, i.e. you will be easier to trace if you stopped paying and also, you can't just get up and move in the middle of the night!2010 - year of the troll

Not after 6yrs they will not! Also, it would statute barred, you'd assume in which case the entry will also be deleted.
If money was last paid before the default date then statute barred will occur first and thus remove the entry before the actual default date.
Fairmorn, what is the default date and what date did you last make a payment? This will determine what date the entry will be removed.fairmorn308 wrote: »what do you think they will do? they did remove the Default but issued it again when i lost my case againest them for reclaim bank charges but am going to file another one.
Can you elaborate please mate - they can't do this! One debt = One default. They cannot add and remove them at will.........2010 - year of the troll

Actually having read that link in more detail the 0% sounds not too bad surely?
Receive the Rise Visa® Credit Card...
as part of the Programme. The cornerstone of the Balance Transfer Programme is the Rise Visa® credit card.
By following the simple steps outlined in the letter, you could soon be carrying a brand new credit card with the balance of your outstanding debt transferred to it at 0% APR for the life of the balance. This means no interest or finance charges on the debt you owe and you’ll have a new credit card with an available line of credit.2010 - year of the troll
