Well thats a bit nicer! I might actually leave a balance on the card then ;p :)

Yheh u could do that :p but it's always advisableto speak to their customer services to avoid any nasty shocks, before going on to spend on the pint and then leaving the balance on :D

Thanks for the new account leads guys :) I will decide which of the 4 mentioned to go with as they all do checks I don't want lots of hits in one swoop.

I am also returning to study in September and will be giving the student account a go but will still be opening a new C/A anyway.

What I have hated most about nationwide is that it doesn't show up on my credit record - yes, why would it being a basic sh1tty account :( - but I have been with them for 10 bleeding years and feel like I could have built up that record with a bank that would reward my loyalty. Yes I am slightly bitter :p

Hope you are all enjoying your evening. Need to put some clothes in the wash otherwise DD will have no clean knicks for school! lol

My RBS current account has never showed up on any credit reports either and I have had this for 10+ years. I suppose if you asked them they may start reporting it for you?

Remember RBS is Natwest and Woody can't use Natwest..... also the lenders dont always report and are under no obligation to - its up to them mate.

HSBC is the best bank in my opinion, but several others think so too - main reason for my vote is due to them using my internal score to override a decline using my credit report. They manusally assessed me and realised it wasn't me but a link on my credit reports and thus gave me what I asked for - and the limit I requested as well.

Top marks to HSBC. 8 months in and to date, no probs whatsoever.

To reiterate, when they gave me a full account back in December, I had 35 defaults and an IVA etc etc etc - none of it mine of course, but most banks would have run a mile! HSBC sat down and spent time deciding if I was the same person and came to correct conclusion (that it wasn't me) and so gave me a full account straight away. :T
