I don't use HSBC. Lloyds TSB Silver (UK Call Centre). Only reason I still have HSBC is because my employer can't seem to change my bank account details even though I asked them to, 3 weeks ago.

Would Barclays have given me a straight decline online if I failed credit scoring?

Usually yes, you can;t appeal a credit score fail either as nothing would change to affect the score.

    credit report/adverse data/internal score.

You cannot appeal a credit score decline cos the only way to impove the score would be to lie, i.e. if you lived at address for 2 yrs then its 2yys, you cant suddenly say 5yrs to improve the score. lol - follow me?

but if they say they cannot offer you an account because you failed their criteria, then you can appeal, this means that you just don;t fit their ideal customer so tell them more to make them say yes! Similarly, with bad/incorrect CRA data this can be appealed.
