On that note, I read that Aqua is ran by Halifax Bank of Scotland? I already have a credit with them, so I assume I will be declined for an Aqua card?

No, different card brand so perfectly fine for you to apply. Go for it.... but if you have a halifax mainstream card then i'd look at a better option such as Tesco/Asda or something a little better.....

Paid £30 off CapitalOne, £10 off Aqua (Direct Debit will take the minimum as well next week), £30 off Aqua, £5 off littlewoods, £75 for two O2 contracts and £60 to what I owe on my mothers littlewoods. Now I have £150 to last me the month.

I phoned Lloyds TSB as I received a telephone banking PIN letter that said ring to change it, the lady tried selling me a credit card while on the phone, I said if you can find out what my pre-approved limit is, then sure, I'll apply. She transferred me and the guy said you aren't eligble for a CC or Overdraft on our pre-approved system yet.

Also phoned Halifax and got the search removed with some BS story. Phoned FirstDirect to get the search removed. They told me the manager has put a note on my file saying any corespondence with me must go directly to her, so they said she'll ring me back on Thursday. I'll be demanding the search be removed.

No more searches for the next 6 months. My credit report went from 10 searches in the last 3 months to 9 today.

On that note, I'm off to work. Got to work until midnight tonight, for a pitiful wage. Being 18 sucks for work, as the 21+ get nearly a £1 an hour more. :(

Thank you :D I used it today to get some more fish - apt name :rotfl:

Aqua is run by Bank of Scotland who are part of the HBOS clan. I had a credit card with Marbles who were bought by HBOS, as it is in arrears I thought I'd be declined but I wasn't.

Yay my Aqua card arrived today, so that's me all set with my 3 subs - hopefully this time next year I'll be entering the mainstream :D

Way cool . Methinks King is gonna get an extra large helping in his nose-bag today :D.

Yep, same here. Another 12 months from now, (maybe 18) we'll be on easy street :T.

Elky, Aqua's credit card insurance policy is provided by Halifax. I have paperwork here on Halifax headed paper. It was sent by Aqua explaining their credit card repayments cover.

Not sure if this has any bearing on whether you get the card or not .

Good luck all the same

I think I was only given a Halifax credit card due to an error of some sort. I tried applying for the Asda card and had no such luck. I've applied for a few mainstream cards and they all told me to bugg** off.

I only got the Halifax card because I was in the bank upgrading my current account, and the lady said I had been pre-accepted so I dunno if it was an error or just luck but I didn't even have to fill out an application form.
