I have just read that if a CCJ is not settled within the 6yrs drop off time that it just gets reissued so that it stays on your file for another 6yrs - surely this is wrong!DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0
-
Thats only if the company who issued it in the first place wants it put back on. This is not normally done though0

This only happens if the company goes back to court to re-issue the CCJ which is very unlikely as the court may not grant it0 -
afternoon,
I hope you are all well.
I don't post on here very often but thought some of you might be interested to know that I finally heard back re: my Ulster appeal... got a letter and credit agreement today, they are offering me a credit limit of £500 which is v low but i'm happy as I don't need it... it's just to get back on the non-subprime cc ladder!
Still not heard a peep from Citi whose rejection I also appealed.. over 4 weeks ago!!!! I'm sure someone else on here has appealed Citi? How long did it take...?
thanks0 -
Hi guys whats the best CC for me to apply for as a 19 year old?
My credit history is limited, but nothing bad on it.
I will be paying of each balance in full or atleast the minimum payment each month.
thanks0 -

Is this only in Scotland? I have never heard of this.
I'm asking because I got my Experian report. My overall rating is 501. I cannot get credit.
I have a £1300 overdraft I am well within and I have a good long term relationship (8 years and 4 months) with my bank.
I have a mobile broadband (dongle) contract.
I couldn't get a contract phone, even with 3 so that's PAYG.
I have found that the New Look card I paid off in full and asked to be closed down 4 years ago is debt free but has not been closed down. I'm going to actually ask for a new card on that account, use it and pay it off so I can build some positive history.
I did have a Barclaycard and Cap. One card, and paid BOTH off in full before sending the cards back, recorded delivery, chopped up incl. through the chip. I moved out of the address with which those accounts were held. I now find someone has been using those accounts in a city I no longer live in (easily proven for the last year but not able to prove for other years except that the debt was run up in I think 2006).
I am being chased by debt collection agencies but have written to them asking them to prove the debt is mine. No reply yet. I've also sent notes of correction to Experian. Nothing's happened yet but I do know from previous experience this takes time; they once took 7 months to amend something for me.
But no CCJs yet...and these debts are not mine. If I let them chase me but keep on insisting it's not my debt, does this mean after a few years it's taken off my record?0 -
Re-reading this, should I therefore now ignore the debt collectors for the next 6 years then? I've been ignoring them for ages til they prove the debts were mine which they clearly don't seem able to do, or why have they not done it thus far? But just want confirmation as I want to get my files sorted and get a mortgage in the next few years and before that I may need credit for a car....0
-
My normal approach with debt collectors is to ignore them til they go away.
Normally they do!0 -
I just want it all sorted ASAP as I do not have any debts other than my manageable overdraft. My bank even offered me a credit card last week but they admitted that though my internal score is good, they'd then be subject to an overall credit check so I probably would be declined.0

As far as i'm aware it 5 years in Scotland and 6 years anywhere else. I dont think writting to a company asking to prove the debt is classed as admiting to the debt. So if you have not made a payment for 5/6 years and not contacted them about your debt except asking them to prove it then you should get the debt statue barred. More info here:
