They are good to build ur credit up but be careful how you use them!!!
And with Capital One, they like to pull a rotten dirty trick of sending you a PIN and then declining you. I rang them last time and told them they had messed with the wrong person as I used to work for them and would be having a quiet word with my journalist brother-in-law about some of their 'practices'
The woman on the phone went quiet for a long time and then defensively said 'Well we wont be sending you a card.' Fine, I said but like I said Im ex-staff and Im going to the media (I know for a fact that if anyone says that you are supposed to escalate the call immediately) She just repeated herself so I laughed and put the phone down.
Be very wary when applying for one of their cards!!!!!!!!!!

The whole credit game is weird if you ask me!! The wife has additons cat with credit limit of £1800, balance of about £170 but littlewoods declined her....same company?? I can't get anything due to poor adverse credit(my fault entirely) but I manged to upgrade my account with Halifax to ultimate reward with an overdraft....i'm so confused!!

I had 850 limit with Littlewoods but Kays (same group again) declined me!!!

Does anyone know when I should expect my CapOne Classic? The PIN came today... should the card come tomorrow, or does it take a few more days?

I have just lost my purse with my debit card in it and hsbc are going to replace my mastero card with a visa debit. I really upset because I have heard that there is no cheque q on the visa debit

best to check you credit files.halifax will search experian for account.littlewoods will search equifax.
weve got 11 accounts with littlewoods group,we are closing some.

i think sutton or innocent are the ones to ask about hsbc

Yeah I have.....funny thing is my experian looks much worse than my equifax file, not sure why? I just don't get it....lol

okay - i've just got off the phone to Lloyds TSB who accepted me for any account I wanted, including their premier accounts (which ofcourse they charge a monthly fee for).

I went for their standard account which is free, comes with a Visa debit card and a cheque book, also an overdraft if I wanted one - i said no, but am allowed to arrange one in the future if i come into some sort of difficulty.

Now, am I being paranoid, or is there a reason why I was so easily accepted by Lloyds. Are they not a very good bank?
