I was told in Sidcup Tesco yesterday they NOW only take 3 coupons and as one of those one of their own (money off total shop and using clubcard) they would only take 2 others.

I've spent ages looking through magazines and papers and cutting them out and now can't use them unless I go more often to Tesco, then there's the price of petrol and my impulse buys so I will be worse off.

Does it really matter to them!

Used about £7 worth of vouchers (including my second to last Joey) today at Tesco Kingsteignton. One voucher flipped across the till when she was scanning and missed being scanned. I noticed it when I got my receipt (it was the only voucher for 50p) so I asked for the voucher back to use next time, she said not to worry, and put it through on it's own and gave me 50p cash (I paid by credit card).

If they cut down on the amount of vouchers you can use each shop, is it worth only doing half a shop, putting it in the car, and then going back for a second (or even third) time? It would take longer, but if you have the time, it might be worth it.

That's a good idea providence, I know a few people who do shopping for other people, both as a favour and as a job.

I can use vouchers at my Tescos with no probs in south Wales. I generally go to my 2 regular ladies as we chat about other things whilst I am shopping. I have asked them if they are Ok with me handing them vouchers and they just say "hand over what you have" so I do and have about £10 a week off my shopping.

I saw some non clubcard vouchers for Tescos on ebay spend £25 and get a £5 off they had been cut from a magazine/flyers so no name on them and they let me use 2 x £5 vouchers in each transaction so I get £10 off. (Bought a job lot for about £6 which had 8 x £5 vouchers= £40 off).

As I have considerable savings I must admit to buying some off ebay as and when required but these are ones cut from magazines/newspapers.

Last week I was challenged by the SA as to the voucher acceptance and the SA called a supervisor over "oh no" I thought, here comes the lecture, NOPE she apologised for the delay and told him to scan them all through. which just goes to show that it's dependent on the store rather than being a national policy.
;) I am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL ;)

I went through the self-scanner and bought 6 packs of Bodyform and used 6 vouchers for £1.00 off (they were buy two for £2.00 at the time). I know you can only use vouchers on the self scanner for products you've bought (otherwise the machine has apoplexy!) but the sales assistant came rushing over and practically dismantled the voucher recepticle to check I hadn't scanned in something I should have!! She was extremely rude especially as I had bought every product I'd scanned a voucher for!

Got my own back, cos in her haste to check the vouchers she missed the fact that the two books I had in my hand had scanned more than the stickers on the front, so she let me go and I got these R&R'd at customer service!

Whole bag of shopping for free!!!!

The self scan tills accept coupons regardless of whether you've bought the product (or at least they do in my Tesco). Coupon acceptance will always come down to individual stores and SA's. The problem I've been told with self scan is that people have been using out of date coupons or putting in blank bits of paper after scanning high value coupons!

Usually that would depend on whether they were Tesco vouchers or not, it wouldn't usually allow you to use Tesco vouchers unless you had bought the product in question
Thanks to all who post constructively.
