I had a really unimpressive experience at Dover CS.
Overcharged 80p on an rtc loaf of bread, no dtd.
Bought 6 packs of rtc nails, to discover afterwards the rtc label above them referred to a different not in stock pack of nails, got a refund and told to be more careful.
Bought 2 lever arch files in green, charged the normal single price each despite them being on special offer. Took the sel to CS as there weren't any more for sale anyway. The cs assistant pointed out that in microscopic print the label had an expiry date of 2 days before. No dtd but as a special condenscending favour to me she charged me the price on the sel and refunded me the diffence. They were flashed at 2 for £2.50 so it would have been a lash up anyway. She repeated several times to me that there is no dtd on Human Error by Tesco. !
No green points for using my own bags added.
I was at the desk for about half an hour and am not going to the Dover shop again.
Also, I have 14 till receipts that have no green points for bag reuse added. A couple of times I got them added because I was going to CS anyway. Happened again on sunday... so in a fit of malice I picked up 5 new bags off the end of a till where the boy was chatting to his mate and couldn't care less.0 -

Why do people stand for this bullsh1t time and time again? Ask the SA to show you on the DTD policy where it excludes certain things? It doesn't!!
Ask to see the manager and tell him his CS staff are putting a bad image of his store forward with their bad attitude and jealous personal invention of rules.
Don't get mad, get even!0 -
Just back from Tesco's, and the Quality Street boxes, which are £3.99, are currently BOGOF. Bought four, and was charged full price, with no BOGOF.
DTD requested, so four boxes of Quality Street for the princely sum of £0.00
Happy choccy days!Andy Corbett0 -

chalkysoil - THIS IS DEFINITELY A H.O. FREEPHONE MATTER.
Tomorrow morning, please dial 0800-505555 and discuss each and every one of these instances. You should keep this number in your 'phone, ready to use at any cs point/store, when things are unsatisfactorily dealt with AND/OR Mr T policy is flouted. This is a staff training and standards issue and you must raise it as such. I am sure you can do this with calm polite repetition, if necessary, emphasising the distress and offence you have been subject to on each and every occasion, being finally moved to take this extraordinary step as a result of this last, utterly unpleasant and unwarranted treatment. This is the line to take - think Penelope Keith, think Joanna Lumley.

.....now, another.
If you have an Epson printer, check out the ink prices on Mr T's generic inks.
Most currently have a '200pts for 2 inks' promo anyway, but today found the E272 @£6, instead of £15.61. As I had a £5 tillspit for a £33 spend, I had worked my £s out exactly. Bought 4 blacks - E262 - @£6.45.
DTD is £19.22.....on each of 4 cartridges. No ink needed for ages now.
£49.80[with CC+]+bag pts = 147+3 plus 800 bonus pts, using tillspit £5 and DTD.

Wow, Tesco totally disgusted me today....
I regularly shop at Tesco and tbh my local store they are so slack at removing out of date shelf edge labels that I get something or other free (through DTD) almost every time I go in there. Well today at lunchtime I was overcharged for 3 different products. So I headed straight to customer services, as usual and the girl asked me to take her to the items. The first item I pointed to the spot and THEY'D changed the SEL since I'd picked up the product (about 10 min before). The second item still had the wrong SEL, so she said that was fine and the third they had removed the SEL and moved a 'price cut' sign in its exact place. I explained that they had been changed since I'd picked up the product and suggested we speak to the person changing them on the dept to confirm this. She said that it wasn't someone on the dept and she could get the duty manager.
As we walked back to the till I told her that I felt they should change the labels overnight, as it wasn't fair on people buying the products in the morning (this was 1pm!!!!) and not realising they had been overcharged. She said that they are just changed 'when they come through to the store'....although they are already changed on the computer system from the start of the day.
When the duty manager arrived I politely explained what had happened. She revealed that someone was currently going around the store removing labels because it was a day when promotions change. I explained that although I understood this I didn't feel that it was at all fair on people who didn't check their receipts. I asked her to call over the person changing the labels, so they could confirm they had changed it and give me it at that price. She smuggly said they were changing hundreds across the store and wouldn't possibly be able to remember. I then suggested that we ask to see the labels they have removed, as they would literally have been changed in the last 10 minutes. She said 'we can't do that because they go straight into the big recycling bins out the back', very unhelpful. I politely told her that I felt trading standards would no doubt have a problem with the fact that they have so many out of date SEL across the store that they are only getting round to changing at 1pm.
I feel that it's completely unfair on customers who have picked up the items, then I asked what she was going to do about this. I was (and still am) so appaulled with her couldn't-care-less attitude. I questioned how she was going to let customers in the store know that they could be picking up items as we speak with an out of date SEL and if they didn't check their receipt they would be overcharged, then if they did check and go to customer service there would be no record of it ever saying that price! She simple said "well we can't put out a tannoy saying we're currently changing prices". WHY NOT? She is totally aware that this is happening and if they are changing "hundreds" of labels at 1pm and there is a store full of people then don't they have the right to know that prices are literally changing as they head to the next aisle?
She then explained 'what I can do is refund you for the items......then obviously we'll take them back from you'...Well thanks for that. She smuggly said I was welcome to write to head office and gave me their address. Tbh I'm not sure whether to write to HO or to go straight to Trading Standards. It's just so dishonest. There were so many ways they could have checked that I was telling the truth:
-Speaking to the person changing them.
-Looking at the labels that they had removed. It really wouldn't have been that many in such a short time.
-Even looking at CCTV.
-Or how about trusting a customer's word, because tbh I'm pretty sure they knew I was telling the truth.
Or how about doing their job properly in the first place or making an effort to correct a problem when they see it has happened? AND STOPPING IT HAPPENING FURTHER.
Any opinions on what I should do?

For every item you purchase take a photo on your phone of the SEL :rotfl:
Tbh if the CS knew they were currently in the process of updating the SELs, then they should have given you the benefit of the doubt.
Alternatively, from their computer system i'd have hoped they'd be able to find out what the previous offer was, to see if it matched what you were claiming.
I think many Tesco CS's need to look up the definition of what they're service is supposed to provide.
While I'm no expert on the subject, i'm pretty sure they aren't meant to be obstructive, belligerent, rude or incompetent.0 -
Report them and write a letter to ho, even go on printable coupons board n get sir terrys personal email, i find this gets more attention. Stress how much u spend, how rude t's staff are and the fact not ur fault they cant do the job efficently......... i agree take your mobile too take pic, they probs follow u around wen u go in the store if u known for dtd - good lukSIMPLES!0
