I have to agree with Ampersand-always accompany them. I went to CS over an doormat that went through at a higher price than the label suggested. CS went upstairs to check whilst I stood at CS-like a plonker.
She was gone ages-when she came back she said that there was no sign indicating the lower price that I quoted. I went up to check as I know what I saw-not only had the sign been removed, but also the remaining stock of door mats. They're really sneaky and seem to get a thrill from duping the customer. I made it quite clear that I knew what she'd done, and didnt buy the doormat.

This also happened to me.I was told to go to CS desk to get the difference back.As I walked off I noticed another assistant follow me then she went down the aisle where the ticket was.You don't need me to tell you what happened next.Surprise:eek: no ticket. If that ever happens again I will go and get the ticket before I complain.

Dont ever remove the ticket, as they could say you had brought it in to the store and accuse you of fraud, which could end up getting you banned from Tescos, always accompany CS to SEL and if possible get a witness

    .

What a fab memory you have ampersand!

You've made me smile - I forgot about my free worldwide annual Tesco insurance R+R which was perfectly timed to cover us for the NZ BiG holiday.:D

  • Tesco Finest chilled sausages are currently 2 packs for £5. I picked up a pork and leek pack and a venison pack. After I paid I looked at my receipt and the discount wasn't showing. I went to the CS desk and apparently you cannot mix and match the venision ones with the rest of the sausages (there are about 8 different varieties). So she told me I could have 2 venision ones for £5 or 2 packs of any other variety for £5. There was only 1 venision pack left so had to go with option 2, so I got pork, venison and red wine, and kept the pork and leek.
The venision ones are £2.99 or 2 for £5 and the other varieties are £2.59 or 2 for £5.
I found it very confusing as I just saw the 2 for £5 on the venision ones and thought they were the same offer - they were with all the other ones on the same shelf. The non-venision sausages have 'ANY 2 for £5' and the venision ones are just '2 for £5'. So basically the CS person said it was my fault for not checking the offer properly, however I think this is an easy mistake to make.
Anyway I got my 58p back - and unfortunately no DTD due to it being my fault!

  • Does the DTD policy apply to online grocery shopping? Friend purchased approx £130 woeth of shopping yesterday and was overcharged on 13 items totalling over £20. When she phoned she was told they would refund the £20 but that the DTD policy didn't apply to online grocery - this doesn't ring true to me but maybe I am just synical????

They're right, DTD does not apply online. :(
  • I was totally appalled that every item that was on offer she had been overcharged for. Typical that the DTD policy doesn't apply to their online overcharges - perhaps that is why there were so many -maybe they consider it is worthwhile trying to overcharge and get away with it if there is no DTD
