My local Tesco Express somehow missed a pack of chocolate brioches right at the front of the shelf which were three days past their best before! I'm so glad I brought it up at the checkout as he ended up reducing it from £1.34 to 20p! Bit stale but that's breakfast sorted for the week!
  • It would be nice, but if we start doing that they start catching on to their misprices and remove them even quicker!

I worked for tesco for ten years and about two years ago we were told at the desk NOT TO remove SEL that were out of date????. So canny customers would come back and buy the shelf to get the DTD.

We as a store went back to taking the SEL off the shelf. Well I did anyway!!.

But some SEL mistakes are store only and some are from H/O and due to system errors higher than store level.

The rule of thumb is if you find a mistake, double check it and the SEL and the reciept. Then buy the shelf.

Most mistakes are when the store has change over which is usually Tuesdays as all the offers change and all the SEL need checking and removing.

Be mindful as what is a error in one store is not in another!!

Yep and sometims they don't change the tickets so you can go back next day too, lol. Also CS could recognise your transaction if they read the thread - a long shot but stranger things happen.:p

This has happened to me and name was mentioned to a work mate,I've since rejoined MSE under another user name and this was fine until R+R was stopped

I onder if anyone can help me. I was overcharged today with my online order. Basically they didn't deiscount my meal for 2 for £9. I called customer services who are going to refund me the £10.70. Should I have been offered a double the difference?? I'm very new to Tesco shopping. Thanks in advance x

No, DTD does not apply for online orders, I'm afraid.

I've just bought A4 lever arch files which are 2 for £2.50. Bought a green one and a blue one, can't tell where the error is, but one went through at £1.39 and the other at 69p, so a total of £2.08.

Might get some more tomorrow, especially if I can find out which one is priced at 69p.

I went back in, mentioned and the woman just reached into the till and gave me £1.15! Now surely they are meant to 1st check, then take my name or what ever and double the difference?

They normally scan it through their till, scan the receipt and then refund you the money at the store near me. I find that they ALWAYS go and check the price unless there's a sticker on the product, but maybe the same problem had been coming up all night and she was already aware of it? Was £1.15 the price you overpaid or double the price you overpaid? If they didn't give you DTD they should have, but some stores ONLY do it if you ask for it.
