So yes, you are basically gettting the wraps for free. It costs £3.50 but they give you £3.50 back and the wraps.

went to my local just have a look but they placed pricing corection stickers on all the catalauges there. grrr lol.. i need one of them flyers lol

    ok,here goes.

I bought the wii fit plus in Tesco today at £84.95.

went to cs desk and they would'nt give me the difference between the advertised lower price and what I paid let alone dtd!

Even though I had the 'newspaper' with no correction sticker on it!
stood my ground and manager game over and said sorry but they had been told it was a printing error and not to honor it!

I repeated don't they have to sell it at the advertised price? simply was told no! only if its on the sel.
I would have been well chuffed to get it for the lower price dtd would of been a welcome bonus though.

and to top it off was descussing dtd and was told they are fasing (sorry if spelt wrong) it out! I've only ever had dtd once :(
  • Well that sucks, gutted for ya.

To be honest i dont even know why tesco bothers with there DTD. They would be better of spending the money on advertisement and that they loose by not updating there SEL's and adopting a more high tech aprouch and thats to use Electronic SEL's.

I beleive some of the Co'op's use these. Some one updates all the prices on the computer and then another person pushing an update button, all the Electronic SEL's start flashing and update with the new price.

I work for asda, and the last thing i need at 6am in the morning when i'm trying to get my dept reading is 20-40 new f***ing price changes to be done, which are 1p -+. The time and money they waist doing these is unreal. More often than not we dont even have the time to change them, so no wonder Tescos are paying out so many DTD lol

They have two options in regard to selling the product. They can sell it at the advertised price or withdraw it from sale for 24 hours, that is for SELs not sure about adverts in papers. I did notice a poster up in a Tesco the other day saying the price for a TV in a flyer was incorrect and stating the correct price.

  • It is worth pointing out here that a shop does not HAVE to sell you anything, they can refuse to sell to you and remove you from what is private property.

Technically, if they decided to be sticklers, they can point out that the offer and acceptance has been made at the till, and by paying the price you have completed the contract.

That said, displaying an SEL that is too low and then attempting to charge you a higher price will get them into trouble with Trading Standards, not that that upsets Mr T too much! This does not include leaflets etc that include printing errors.

I have to say though that I wish I had seen this, I would certainly have tried for it. Knowing the law and chancing my arm are not mutually exclusive!!

    Today I got:

Pilgrims Choice Mature Cheddar Cheese, 200g. £1.50 each, but marked on pack as Any 3 for £3. I bought 3 and they went through with no multibuy deduction, so I got £3.00 DTD refund.

These were in the cheese section next to the deli counter. I think the offer expired yesterday, so that would explain why the deduction didn't kick in. There are a few other varieties of cheese in this offer and most of them have the offer marked on the pack, but I don't know if these would also be charged full price.
