Just a thought, I do hope all of you working the battery angle only use cash, and not your Tesco Clubcard, nor any Debit or Credit card, then you are not traceable !!

Why i used my clubcard i have not done anything wrong.

I never use a clubcard on glitches but to be honest it's habit more than being worried. It comes from the old DTD days when you could only do so many pricechecks per month and they knew by your clubcard if you were doing too many. I never use a debit card if I want to get DTD on a misprice because it's just easier to use cash and a couple of times people have had problems getting their cards refunded. I wouldnt worry if you've used a clubcard as we've all said before what can T's do.
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:

OK, semi serious question, am I a thief?

I have just been to tesco and scanned through 24 packs of batteries, a litre bottle of Bacardi and a litre of pineapple juice (well, it has to be diluted with something...) and the sub total is £98.00 exactly, as the Bacardi is on offer. The discounts that came off where £98. Total to pay £0.00.

So the SS till just shot out the receipt, and I stood patiently as the SA removed 24 security tabs from the batteries, then walked out. No one stopped me, no one asked for money, I did not scan my clubcard (well, no points to be gained!).

So I didn't pay, but the till did not ask me to pay.

    Did I steal everything?

Got a few batteries and a couple of Fairy along with some Herbal Essence shampoo yesterday, today the Fairy didnt work and all the 3 for 2 swingy banners were gone regarding the shampoo and the batteries were marked as buy1get1free, go figure.

That said, there's always tomorrow and another store. :D

No its just the same as what we've all been doing only we got our totals to over so we had a bit to pay.....by going to the till, scanning and getting a receipt you've paid, its not your fault if at the bottom of the receipt tesco take all the offers off hee hee...youve offered to pay

I am not knocking you whatsoever but I think that because you knowingly did this (after reading all the posts on here), this could be classed as deception. I would have to research this properly to give you a definitive answer. Any people out there in the legal profession?

My batteries didn't have any security tags on them, it never crossed my mind they would have, can you imagine the noise if they had

Does your receipt say transaction cancelled / transaction void or words to that effect at the bottom? Because I've had one like that when the total came up as a minus figure when I bought reduced tapas at a self serve. I had to go back into the store and pick up some other items and scan it all again otherwise it certainly would have been theft as a valid transaction hadn't taken place. I've never had a receipt hit bang on zero before so I don't know whether it states its invalidity explicitly but I'm sure I read somewhere that a contract of sale requires the payment of at least a penny.

Knowing in advance that the offers would behave in such a manner is fine, who are we to know if Tesco didn't intend them to run concurrently? We can think that certain offers are glitches and misprices but in the absence of an official statement it's all just speculation.

Just be ready to quickly grab a packet of chewing gum or mars bar or something close to take it over the £0.00 then you have paid what it asked for
I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.
