Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker Car Insurance Carver!
You'd have to be mad to buy the JM denby set at full price :rotfl:
£67 for 4plates 4 sideplates and 4 bowls, I have no idea what to do with mine we're a family of 6.
I think it's expensive even at £33.50 tbh, Am I too MSE these days lmao!!

What you do is go to another store and buy another set, but only if DTD. Forgot to say when I posted last night that I got the Black Striped glasses ( 8) which came to £10.50 and they took off £1.50. My brain was so addled by all this DTD I almost forgot to query it. Any way I ended up paying £5.50 for 8 although I used a £5.00 off voucher so technically 8 for 50p.

Just be cheeky and ask a friendly male floor worker to check the warehouse for you. If you don't ask you don't get.

I totally agree with you! I'm in the Midlands and i've checked Ashby, and both Loughborough stores with not a thing for DTD. There's also a guy on here from Leicester who said he has checked two Leicester stores and found nothing. Are your stores near this and can tell me which ones you have checked so I don't bother going further afield?

    I want phones!!! :D

I'm in the Cov area! Boo Hiss to Mr T's round here! Also popped into the DRugby store - all the £3 labels peeled off the prawns!

Generally for these deals we've been keeping an eye out for yellow labels but it would seem that sometimes, the price change has happened centrally regardless of expiry dates on labels or the colours so if you can, test scan before you commit.

The RSC pots as an example were on an in-date SEL yesterday but scanned at the higher price. Apparently the store couldn't understand what had happened and had offered to refund the £40 and then charge the £20. Strangely my folks didn't think this was as good as DTD so politely declined and asked for DTD!

Another point to note is that just because the SEL is out of date, the item may still scan at the lower advertised price. Normally you'd think you'd be happy to be still getting a bargain after the deal had finished but it's much more fun getting stuff for free :T

    Excuses:

    • I didn't see the item being scanned through
    • I didn't notice the total when I was paying (kids are a good distraction)
    • There was a big queue behind me and I thought maybe I was wrong and didn't want to cause a hold-up
    • I mis-read the total (this was my ready made excuse a few weeks ago as the bill said £180 whereas it should only really have been £100 so I was prepared to say I mistook the 8 for a 0)
    • It scanned at the higher price but I thought it would take a discount off at the end and only noticed when the receipt didn't show it
    • Or, is it my job to check labels against barcodes against the scanned price? Yes, I used this one when a particularly nasty trout gave me the third degree.

Why use excuses? When asked I tell them I wanted the item for free and in future they shouldn't be so tardy with their pricing as thats why DTD was implemented! The look on their faces is worth more than the DTD! :D

I see T's are doing 25% off when you purchase 6 bottles of wine. Has anyone tried this with the little bottles yet?
