No way would I give in, Most of the DTD's I've had have been due to an OOD SEL and I did actually comment once to CS that I wouldnt be able to see them without my glasses on!! I have never been told that. Why not try ringing HO again and asking for a supervisor quoting the "If things don't add up" line to them?

    Hi
I will give this one more go! lol
Has anyone else got a dtd refund by phoning CS?
Does anyone have the actual words that are written on the board?
    Thanks for support

I've phoned CS while in store before now, and the very helpful person there explained that any label misquoting a price was part of the reason DTD was set up, and therefore the DTD should be honoured. The manager didn't look too happy but as I kept polite (as best I could!) she did honour it.
When I've called after leaving the store, they've not been able to do much. If its a small amount they may send you a giftcard.

    Hi Everyone

Got the RSC classic aluminium non-stick cookware set (pans) barcode 5022014173902 this morning. They were at the end of an aisle in RTC section SEL said £20 charged £40 = £40 dtd back.
    hth
    Shop one - A vs T
    Shop two - A vs W
    And then repeat :j:j:j
    & now add - A vs S
What the heck A vs the world :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

ive been reading this thread for a few days now and it sounds very interesting! due to less income this sounds like a perfect way to make a few pounds!

can you just tell me what the label will look like?

better get thinking of a few excuses to come up with incase i get the third degree!

Generally for these deals we've been keeping an eye out for yellow labels but it would seem that sometimes, the price change has happened centrally regardless of expiry dates on labels or the colours so if you can, test scan before you commit.

The RSC pots as an example were on an in-date SEL yesterday but scanned at the higher price. Apparently the store couldn't understand what had happened and had offered to refund the £40 and then charge the £20. Strangely my folks didn't think this was as good as DTD so politely declined and asked for DTD!

Another point to note is that just because the SEL is out of date, the item may still scan at the lower advertised price. Normally you'd think you'd be happy to be still getting a bargain after the deal had finished but it's much more fun getting stuff for free :T

    Excuses:

    • I didn't see the item being scanned through
    • I didn't notice the total when I was paying (kids are a good distraction)
    • There was a big queue behind me and I thought maybe I was wrong and didn't want to cause a hold-up
    • I mis-read the total (this was my ready made excuse a few weeks ago as the bill said £180 whereas it should only really have been £100 so I was prepared to say I mistook the 8 for a 0)
    • It scanned at the higher price but I thought it would take a discount off at the end and only noticed when the receipt didn't show it
    • Or, is it my job to check labels against barcodes against the scanned price? Yes, I used this one when a particularly nasty trout gave me the third degree.

Thanks to all who post their finds! sadly my local T's all seem to be on the ball with OOD sels, not one single thing :-(

I totally agree with you! I'm in the Midlands and i've checked Ashby, and both Loughborough stores with not a thing for DTD. There's also a guy on here from Leicester who said he has checked two Leicester stores and found nothing. Are your stores near this and can tell me which ones you have checked so I don't bother going further afield?

    I want phones!!! :D
