You obviously weren't around for R&R then celebrate/Adam

That used to be the policy before double the difference.

Yes tesco could easily change the policy to just the difference, but I would warn about getting carried away with this DTD policy, it happened during R&R days in 2006/2007 and those that regularly found misprices raised their profile so much, that there were a lot of covert activities by staff to ban those who regularly took advantage of this policy.

There were quite a few who were banned, some had legal action taken against them.

Just thought I would make people aware that public bragging of how you managed to get loads of free stuff will not go unnoticed by tesco, henlans price check story will demonstrate that tesco are not stupid, they do read these forums, they do trace people and they do take action to protect themselves.

CS staff will get to know you, and security too, they will take stills of prolific dtd'ers and pass them round to other stores.

And I'm not here to criticise anyone, just warn of the consequences of such public bragging and doing "too much"

I've been playing the game since 2006 and have not been without incident, put it that way. I've learnt a lot over the years.

Evening all. Congratulations on all your DTD bargains!

I swore I wasn't going to Tesco today. I've even put my PJ's on in the hope that having to get dressed again will put me off, but now I've read about all your finds I don't know if I can help myself...

Has anyone been to W*ston Av today?

As for getting DTD, I have a special power at the moment. Look, this is going to sound awful, but bare with me OK?

On Tuesday I had some minor surgery on my face, which has left me terribly bruised. The bruises are so dark purple that they look more like port wine stain birth marks than bruises. The thing is, I've noticed that people are having trouble looking me in the face at the moment, and I kind of thought that any cs person is just really going to want me to leave.....

I know, I know, I'm a horrible person, but it might just work:rotfl:

Not get to W*ston Ave. today...was debating what store to visit as live about equal distance from both. If you do go, hope you find some bargains and your face makes it easy to claim DTD..:rotfl:

Hope your face heals soon and is not too sore.

Tesco change their prices so often staff sometimes can't keep up;)
Don't shop there much any more as security staff follow me & my OH round local stores and pricecheck anything we buy.
Means we can't partake much of the 1p bargains sadly.
OH is officially banned from 2 stores - wish the Manager would leave.

    OMG:eek::eek::eek:
actually I often feel I am being "watched" witha security guard strolling backwards and forwards pass the isle i'm in but never to the extent that thy are scanning my items
Can I ask what you did do deserve this?

    quote deleted

    well done adam!

did both SEL's state the end date for the offer?
I agree adam, i was just thinking the same todaym this thread is becoming more and more popular and I ts probably only a matter of time before they change policy.......best to make the best of it while we can eh?;)

Not sure if should be giving peeps ideas on how to defraud (is that the right word:cool:?) T's -i would never consider changing a label, took all my guts and some to go through with such a big DTD today

I was around for R&R (just), I got a couple of months out of it, hence my joining date being round the time of that particular promotion, I think. I may have just lurked then, though!

I completely agree with your sentiments though - I don't ALWAYS post when I've found a good deal (found a few penny items today, but as I've already posted about them, I'm not going to post again with the same details, for instance), just when the 'zeitgeist' of the thread makes a comment appropriate.

If anyone is in Chelmsford town centre T's, they could have a fruitful time. I didn't have time to get them and also I don't want to name the items, but pm me if you are going in and I'll let you know what I spotted! A couple of the things people are looking out for.;)

Both had the same end date, yes. I'd spotted them yesterday but didn't have a trolley so would have had to lug them six aisles away to a scanner and potentially replace if not 'right'! Our store has a big circular 'Digital Desk' thing in the middle of the electrical department, so there's not much opportunity for sneaking stuff from shelves/back onto shelves. And our store has just introduced a £1 per trolley system which means I don't always have a coin on me so miss out on scanning stuff these days on most visits.

Re: defrauding - I debated posting that but as the thread moves so fast it'll disappear into the ether in no time. Unless you want to delete it from your quote and I'll do likewise?

There was two toasters and a kettle that would have been 'free' in my store, but didn't want to push my luck.

I got some Micro Blocks yesterday sel said £30.00 but sticker on box said £15.00. They went through at £30.00 and the CS assistant happily gave me £30.00 DTD with no problem. I noticed there were a few phones with expiry date of 17/7 which is Sunday so there maybe some DTD going 1st thing Monday. I am free on Monday so will go early and check
