A few of my friends work in Asda, and I commented about the police cars I kept seeing outside. They say that since the recession really hit the number of shop-lifters has gone through the roof.
If Asda are cutting back on staff generally, and security specifically.... well presumably they are taking a calculated gamble that they are loosing left in theft, than the cost of staff to prevent it.
As for staff cuts and people doing 2 and 3 peoples jobs....
I was speaking to someone last week who works for NHS, whose manager had been got rid of, plus another part-time member of staff. She only worked part-time herself and was having to do the work of all three of them.... and not being paid a penny more !
Presumably this will be true across all the public sector, if they haven't cut the service entirely... eg Libraries and Services to Elderly and disabled.
Interesting times..... and I don't think we have seen the worst of it yet.:cool:0 -
There is some sort of glitch on the 3for2 single bottles of beer. This morning I bought:
3x Tesco Kriek Cherry Beer 1.39 each
1x Newcastle Brown Ale 1.89
1x Bishops Finger 1.89
1x London Pride 1.49
Total 9.44
Till only took off 1.39
Was refunded DTD =2.78
Net 5.27 for 6 beers!
Because it took off 1.39, I'm guessing this is for the Kriek, therefore it's the three single ales that it glitches on. Hmm, maybe I should have been refunded 2x1.49 then??? Never mind.
So if you just bought the three ales, that's 2.29 for 3 beers based on the above three. Is my maths right?:starmod: DO IT NOW :starmod:0 -
Just got back from Tesco. For some reason I have a habit of scanning things on the price checker! Anyway, found a gift box of Moshi Monsters with 3 months membership. SEL £9.97 scanned £19.97. Bought three, £60 DTD given, no probs. Picture below.
Hope this helps.0 -

Hi All
re DTD on over charges
Ive had a problem with the Failsworth store manchester not giving DTD and having that part of their sign covered
Well I emailed Philip Clarke and here is his response :j
Thank you for your email addressed to Philip Clarke, to which I have been asked to respond. Please accept my apologies for the delay in replying to you.
I am sorry that you you have not received our overcharge policy consistently in all of our stores and I would like to take this opportunity to clarify our policy.
If we overcharge our customers, regardless of which store you visit, our policy is to refund double the difference.
As this has not been followed in our Failsworth store, I have brought this to the attention of Adrian Pasquet, our Failsworth Store Manager. He will take the necessary action to make sure that the sign is updated and our overcharge policy is applied correctly.
Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention.
Ok so no money card but I do think getting DTD back in Failsworth will prob be worth more than that in the long run eh?No. 16 in HCCSC:jFull Time Uni Student & Glitcher :j
