The staff in my local Asda are the friendliest of all. Then Morrisons. But the staff in Tesco are like robots and have no personalities. It must be something to do with the training.

And thank god for that! Think how many people would have lost out on the knives, crockery, cookware, gardening items etc if Tesco managed to pull their finger out of their **** :D

I swear I'm becoming addicted to this forum. Every time there's a glitch or DTD or something that will allow me to shaft Tesco I'm off the sofa and out the door quicker than Tesco can change their minds on company policy.

Did you read my mind?! Couldn't agree more! Some of these glitches have been fantastic and the fact that it's tesco that are getting shortchanged makes it even more satisfying!

I was actually quite excited this afternoon when I had the opportunity to visit a different tescos to hunt out all the deals!

And my new kitchen knives meant I didn't have to spend ages hacking away at a chicken to cut it up - it was so easy :)

No problems as of yet in my local tescos - fortunately it's an extra so quite bag, but I am quite recognisable so no doubt they recognise me just probably haven't spotted that I'm up to anything!

Went to morrisons today, don't tend to go there as much as they don't stock much organic veg or free range meat, but it is a much more pleasant shopping experience. Going to go there all the time now for 'normal' shopping I think.

Today I was followed round the store by a manager who I had a run in with about 4 years ago on a mispriced DVD set. He saw me with my (shopping) list and looking closely at SELs (as I always do for a pence per gram comparison) and obviously thought I was on the hunt for as many DTDs as I could get. I was trailed for half of my shop :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Any of you longtimers still have shadows?

I'm still banned from my local store!!

:)Me too, my crime was to claim RnR on the beer deals, followed around the store next time I went in (only nipped in to buy a sarnie for my lunch) by Security, surrounded by 2 Security men, Deputy & Store Manager, questioned about how I managed to put the SEL on the shelf ??? then told I was banned for life. all because THEY are slack and kept forgetting to replace SELs when the offer changed)
I'm that old I even managed to bag the classic Xbox on RnR

I am starting to hate Tesco. We have two shops very near. The staff in the "old" shop are not that bad but the ones in the new one are really up themselves. It must be a mixture of training and managers.

I hate Tesco with a vengeance ! The rot starts at the top and permeates down to the dour faced grumpy floor staff, I would rather do 6 months in clink than have to work there .

I only visit them to take advantage of 50% off or better deals that I know are genuine or DTD glitches etc. The more I can take to my advantage from this butt end of the retail world the better I like It !

I feel all warm and fuzzy reading these comments! Before DTD I wasn't wise to their 'deals' and didn't even know about the in-store DTD. These forums have opened my eyes to the deals that can be found and how to take advantage or in most of our cases, how to seek revenge on what must be the most hated retailer in the UK if not the world.

I went into Asda today to get nappy sacks (which Tesco are no longer stocking according to numerous threads on the net) and Betty Crocker. Turns out Poundland do nappy sacks and the pancake mix was OoS. Somehow I still managed to spend £30 on bits'n'pieces yet when I go into Tesco, I have a strict list I will not deviate from. I check out the deals before I go on, look for yellow SELS or the reduced stickers and print off coupons for items I need and can get the most out of e.g. a voucher for ladies razors was only £1 off for Tesco but £1.50 off for Sainsburys. Knowing Tesco take all sorts of coupons I got £1.50 off a £5 razor plus £2 RTD.

In years gone buy I would never have put so much time and effort into saving money. God I came in last Thursday after a day out and was kicking myself about the knives. I decided I'd take the chance and tried 2 stores just in case. I've no idea what I would have done with the 3 knife blocks, 2 sets of crockery and the 8 or so other knives I had in my trolley but thankfully for me my store didn't have the glitch. At the same time, Tesco losing money would have made it all worth while :rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
I don't think much of the men at the top of Tesco or their current clothes buyers tbh and do enjoy getting the occasional bargain when one comes up but I do feel a great deal of sympathy for the floor staff.
After talking to one particulary grumpy security guard the other week while returning a faulty item out of hours he told me that the number of staff has been slashed while the company continue to make a profit.
Now remaining staff are expected to do not only their own work but that of the other people who were employed before.
He told me that not only did he have to man the door but stop shoplifters and check the CCTV by himself.
How one person can manage that many tasks at once is a wonder and no wonder he looked a little peeved.
I know that people will say that its the same everywhere just now but having to be polite to customers all day when you are under a huge deal of stress must be hard and although i don't excuse bad manners and surliness, I for one can understand why they are hacked off.
I also wonder if stores are penalised by head office if they have too many DTD? It's no excuse for not honouring it or being rude though.
