    re adoresabargains query
last year when they had a buy two get third free offer on toys i queried at the till why id been charged for all three. they called a manager over who said the offer had finished i said there is still a big poster in the doorway i offered to show her and the checkout girl asked if she should print the reciept first then i could pay at CS once it was sorted. Manager siad no because once the transaction is done we would be liable for DTD if shes right. they suspended the sale looked at the poster with me and said it was out of date but they would honour it then took me to CS to reduce the cost of the last item so i think if they catch it at the tills they see it as they are ok not to offer dtd. in hindsight i should have paid then gone to cs to query it.

i picked up a misprice yesterday a blue lunchbag that in the seasonal isle with the BBQ stuff in showing a shelf edge label of £1.50 but goes through for 75p well it did in th sth wigston store.

Just to be clear about this so as to avoid any confusion:

    1. The overcharge transaction does have to go through the till.

(If doesn't go through the till then you haven't been overcharged, have you?)

    2. Once you have been overcharged, then you can go to Customer Services and get your DTD refund.

    3. It's no use telling the girl at the till that she has put (or is putting) something through with an overcharge on it. All she will do is cancel the item and put it through manually at the correct price (even if she has to get help to do it from another assistant and keep you waiting at the till).

If all of this happens, then you won't have been overcharged and so won't be able to get your DTD back. Surely you can understand that this is what the check out girl has been instructed and alerted to do.

    ie. Avoid overcharging the customer.

    4. If you are deliberately shopping to catch a DTD deal, don't for goodness sake tell the girl at the till when the item goes through at the wrong (higher) price. This has to happen for you to be overcharged!

For those who were a bit confused on all of this, I hope you now get the idea

I've never used them before, but i wanted to check the price of the washing powder to see if they were 71p so had to take to checkout-no luck scanned at full price!! I'm no good at these tesco bargains.

i have to agree with them - she offered £20 back did you want it for nothing?

It must have been quite a heated debate for them to ban you have never heard of that over DTD

No they wanted DTD which is advertised clearly on their 'customer charter' board.

You would be surprised how horrible some Tesco Customer Service staff can be (not all just some) they seem to take it as a personal affront if you are overcharged. I have watched a manager have to order a cs member of staff to give me DTD she even argued with him as well as me.

Do you still have the phone? If so phone Tesco customer services explain to them what happened say you are very upset that you were treated this way. You don't particularly want to have a meeting with the store manager, you just want an apology and the DTD you should have had when you were overcharged.

Unfortunately, go cat, you are completely incorrect.

linicio is absolutely entitled to DTD.

Please, op, don't be phased by anything you read to the contrary here.
You need only point out the wording of Mr T's own big blue board at CS[Customer Charter/Promise]and ask the other person to read it and comply.
I would certainly pre-empt any store meeting and be pro-active on this one by ringing H.O. - FREEPHONE 0800-505555 and speaking with a senior supervisor/head of section, about a serious and actionable complaint arising from poor staff training.
