Double the difference! Tesco SHOULD give you back double what you had been overcharged! Its their policy but sometimes they need reminding of it!

    whats dtd?
Sometimes they say that DTD is no longer their policy. Remind them by politely pointing to the large blue board behind them.

Just back in stock at one of my local stores for the upcoming party season and are priced at £3 per pack or (and it says this on the point of sale plus on the package itself) Buy two for £5.

Went through till as £3 each so went back in and got given a £2 refund, so ended costing me £4 for both packs
  • mens outfit deal - jumper £12 and jeans £10, but the offer was both for £15 - offer didnt kick in but all clothes did have 20% off so was charged £17.60 for both so got £5.20 DTD they removed the poster but made a big fuss of scanning both items with a hand held thing and promotion was supposed to start on both on 24th sept so they didnt know why it wasnt working - might be worth looking out for in other branches

£5.20 - is that all?!? I would have argued it - if it was £15 on the offer, less 20% ON aLl CLOTHING as well, i would have wanted it for £15 less 20% being £12 - you were charged £17.60, so £5.60 over - £11.20 DTD ;)
  • i was shooping in tesco this arvo, saw an sel for the large choc tins BOGOF @£10. also saw the same tins marked at £5. i picked 4 up, and got charged £20 - either way the correct amount, but there was no BOGOF on my recipt. i went to cs to explain, and they said the BOGOF had finished but were now £5 per tin, but dont worry we didnt charge you any more.

i did have a discussion with them but they told me i was wrong, i said surely the price they scan at is not relevent, the fact that they were advertised BOGOF and i had not got them BOGOf was my issue. i knew i was trying it on a little pushing for both half price and BOGOF, but the fact that they had 2 different sels was not my fault. after 10 mins discussion, and both the cs staff thinking i was mad i left. just wondering which was right -

    a) should of had them half price and BOGOF
    b) should have pushed for a £10 over charge - £20 DTD (although there was no financial overcharge i was not honoured with the bogof advertised)
    c) i was completley wrong, as the figures added up so should have not even bothered with cs. lol

    any comments appreciated.

If it was advertised as BOGOF @ £10 then c)
If it had just said BOGOF @ No Price shown then a)

I had a good one today, went into our local Tesco (Dunstable) as it has just reopened after a week of refurbishment - been going cold turkey and getting the shakes as I havent been able to go to a Tesco especially with the 1p bargains.
My OH put in 50 Games Compendium board game (in a biggish black box) as it was only £2.50, took a picture on my phone just incase ;), and when it went through the tills it went through at £10, tried to hide my big grin as I went racing down to the customer service desk, got £15 DTD and a christmas pressie to put away, they paid me £5 to take it away - result :j
Also got a piece of cake as it was their re-opening - a good mornings shopping me thinks!!!

I had other things and didnt notice how much I had been charged until I had paid !!!. I said it should be £15 and the woman ran off to customer services and refunded me £15. Should I have got double the difference or something??? Thank you for any help.

DEFINITELY - go back to CS and politely point out their third-from-bottom policy promise, which starts 'If things don't add up...' If no joy, ring HO Freephone 0800-505555 to explain. Do this at the counter. Say you assumed initially that the check-out person had understood Mr T's own policy, but this was not so.

You shouldn't have a problem. Good luck.
