Obviously the house next door to me will be vacant, as the current residents will have moved north, so you can move in there....enormous field behind the houses, plenty of room for countless greenhouses, flower beds, paddocks......

Tights are creating many a second glance, hope it's envy, not ridicule

Sure its just envy - and this house next to yours how easy is it for children to find - thinking of a swift exit and a secret sanctuary - oh only for the next um 6 years?

They might have left home by then - only kidding :D

Very easy, if we're the only people in the south :D Kids could have the house next door to you, if you needed some peace and quiet!

Woo hoo - my diary is turning into a party! Thank you for all your kind comments. Piq - your tights sound excellent!!

I think the exam at the end of my course today went OK - although I shall have to wait for the results - so I shall put that down to the power of the stripes! *waggles stripey foot at Fay*!

Fay - the beer and beef are excellent!! Hugs back to you.

Did 118 miles today to claim back so depending what rate they pay me at that will be either £29.50 or £47.20 - fingers crossed for them paying the higher rate.....I also need to check the online banking to see if Northern Rock have transferred my PPI reclaim money yet.

Shall I make muffins tonight? I have eggs to use up before they go off.......

I made chocolate chip and macadamia nut ones in the end Piq - delicious they are too if I do say so myself!

    A little progress to report:

Small Quidco payment has now dropped into the bank account so have transferred that over to the linked savings account, rounded up to the nearest £10. The way I usually work is to transfer any small amounts I can scrape up into the linked savings accounts to the current accounts, then once a month transfer a lump into the ISA. *note* Someone remind me when I come to do the ISA transfer later in the month that I MUST transfer an odd penny to it as well to avoid the "99p" thing I have going on at the money - it's still bugging me! Once my ISA is full we will move on to one which MrEH will be opening. Note to Bob - MrEH is another "might get around to it eventually" merchant, so I feel your pain! I shall start chivvying him on that one well in advance of it being needed I think. In fact, probably this month. Not sure yet where we will go for that but it must be an online one as I have to be able to do the transfers to it....nothing will ever make its way in otherwise! I need to rejig our budget sheet at some stage - I started on it the other week then I boogered it up so gave up on it.

Like everyone else I have one or two insurance policies which seem to have gone through the roof recently so we have to take a look at those to see if something cheaper and better suited to our current needs can be found elsewhere. We are also owed £50 compensation from the Building society for ANOTHER financial catalogue of errors. (They paid someone elses water rates from our acopunt for 18 months!) That should come through when MrEH gets round to doing the letter to say "yes please" - so sometime in the next milennium at a guess. Other than that I can't see many more areas in our budget where savings can be made. Contents Insurance comes up for renewal in July and I shall be shopping around through Quidco again. Car insurance doesn't happen until December. The only other thing we have insured is the cat - she's with Petplan and not cheap but I can't change her to a new insurer now as she's over 8 years old and the risk of someone else not being willing to offer her cover in a few years isn't one I'm willing to take - Petplan do at least guarantee lifetime cover. I might get cheaper and ring them and see if I can negotiate a discount though. ;)

Might buy some more STRIPEY SOCKS when I go shopping with my Mum on Saturday - we're having a girlie day out as MrEH and Mr Ellibee are both out for the day....hurrah!

Mutual pain then. I remember the days of two full ISA's *sigh* funnily enough he was until recently paying into another one, all fine and dandy but what is the point if overdraft charges are occurring? Simply doesn't make sense to me!

Sounds like a lovely day planned for you and your mum on Saturday, look forward to piccies of said Stripey Socks.:D

Hmmmm...hadn't thought of taking pics of them....mine aren't as interesting as Fays I'm afraid - just ankle ones!

Quite honestly Bob if I hadn't discovered this site & forum, had a good chat with a friend's husband about mortgage OP'ing, and then taken control of everything, we'd still be where we were just over a year ago with somewhere about 2.5k Loan and £800 overdraft. Scary thought. This year is the first time in our married life that we have come back from a fortnights holiday without being into the red as a result of it. I much prefer this way of living! :D
