Cheers guys!
Went to look at a car for MrEH this afternoon....drove to the other side of London to look at a Clio which was described as being in "Excellent condition both inside and outside" - well, excellent condition my....errr....backside! More like a skip on wheels. Frankly as I refused point blank to get into the beast to test drive it, it was never going to get exchanged for our hard-earned! The search for his car will continue....
Taxi - you're not kidding - all that's been heard here for the last week is "I want my Clio back!!"
Just remembered I have a £68 expenses payment due from work this week - that will head straight into savings when it turns up so will be a bit of a boost.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I do hope you get it back tomorrow. It's awful having to drive another one..we had a ford mondeo as a replacement hire taxi last year and it was awful...I ended up getting an Octavia then off them ..it was loads better but wasn't the same as my Vectra....just taught me that I was never going to buy a Ford ..it was so unreliable...so I can really sympathise with you.0

Have you got the car back?
YES!!!! Picked it up yesterday afternoon and drove it straight to Peterborough for the speedway world cup semi final last night. So nice to have her back!!!! SWC was not a terribly MSE night out what with ticket, programme, parking, food and diesel, but it was an excellent and entertaining evening so worth every penny in my view!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

glad you got your car back safe and sound. I once had to drive a micra and tried to beg to get a different car but they wouldn't give. Mine had it's MOT yesterday and thankfully cost nothing more than the test fee which was at a reduced cost as well. Phew!0

Urgh - MoT tests - hate them! I have to face up to the fact that if I'm going to keep mine four years not three, I'll have to do the whole MoT thing again. Not fancying that idea much!
Current tentative plan is that my car will be retained for the extra year, at which point we will Part-ex Mr EH's for a new replacement for mine, and I will transfer mine into his name and he can then get another three or more years from it. Seems like a sound plan as we'll know the history of it and will always have kept it well maintained too.
Got my email at work today to confirm that my exp's go in to the account tomorrow, and today is payday too so I shall have a look at the money in a while and see what can be shifted about.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Think it's everybodies time for car bills /tax/mot etc...my pits test etc are all due before end of month...yuck..and even though my car is only 12 months old it has to have it's MOT at 18 months old because it's a taxi....so know how it feels with all the car bills.
Glad you got your car back and that you enjoyed the racing.0 -
QUICK NOTE : Might have found MrEH a car. Not the Renault Clio we were going for, but there aren't an awful lot of those about in a diesel. This is a Citroen C3 diesel - 52 plate, looks from its pics to be in excellent condition. Cheap tax, cheap insurance....fingers crossed we will be able to go and look at it on Saturday / Sunday. It would have to be said that from a personal perspective I think the C3 is possibly one of the dullest cars ever invented, but I am slightly more demanding of what I want from a car than he is - so long as it gets him from A > B it'll do him he says, and they are remarkably easy to drive (= DULL in my world!). We'll see.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
