Glad you're feeling a little better over the accident after a talk with Mr EH.Know how you feel about the CC bill as I've just had the same dilemma ..luckily for me Mr Taxi received a 0% card so I've transferred it to that.
Sometimes there'snothing we can do when stuff breaks down etc and it gets in the way of our plans but that's life I guess.
    Have a good day x

Crikey EH glad you're okay -were you really shaken up - I would have been a mess! So if I've understood rightly did you mean your no claims will be given back - if so that's really good news!

Hi EH - everything ok? Is this the weekend you are away to Cardiff?

Bummer about the car but at least you got the details sorted out in the end. It's up to the insurance company now. DH was involved in an accident where the driver at fault was killed. Although DH's insurance paid out straight away on the car he had to wait over a year for loss of earnings from the other company because they 'had been unable to get any details from their client' DUH!!! well they wouldn't would they:mad:.

Urgh - can't believe I've not posted on here for so long. Sorry, and thanks to those who have posted also!

I'm fine - just been having a month of strangeness. There was the car thing - wel the car finally went in for fixing on the 29th June and is still there. Initially I had a grotty very basic '08 plate Fiesta courtesy car which was horrible, unfortunately it was horrible to the extent that the engine kept dying when I slowed down so they changed it for me to a rather more pleasant '09 plate new shape Fiesta, which is an improvement, and actually quite helpful because we were considering buying one when we n ext change cars. [Clarkson/Top Gear mode] The new Fiesta could reasonably described as being all fur coat and no knickers. From the outside, it's a beautiful car - frankly you could hang this in the National gallery and it wouldn't be out of place. The lines are sleek, flowing and sinuous, and it is simply a delight to behold. Once in the drivers seat however, things start to head downhill a little, which once you have witnessed the lack of acceleration from the 1.25cc engine, is probably all you've ever want to do again as well. It's jet propelled away from the lights in first, second isn't too bad, then you change to third, and, hang on - am I in fifth? Nope, third it is - WHY ISN'T IT ACCELERATING?! There is no lumbar support whatsover in the drivers seat, and the seat squab bit that you sit on it too long for a 29" leg, leading to an uncomfortable driving position that reminds me that my 40th birthday isn't quite as far away as my brain would like to convince me it is. [/Clarkson/Top Gear mode] Yep - well put it this way, we won't be buying one. OH liked it even less than I did, and has refused to drive it since. Fingers crossed my adorable little Clio might be back with me on Monday. As I have to drive to Peterborough and back on Monday even, I flipping well hope so too!

Money seems to have been flying out left right and centre at the moment which is another reason for the apathy. Hard to stay motivated when you're not seeming to make any progress. Silly though as I know coming on here helps with the motivation so.....

Finally got around to calling British Gas so DD for the electric is now reduced to £47 per month. I shall continue monitoring and see in three months if it can drop again. The extra £10 should go to the mortgage OP but I've deliberately not done anything about that yet as I know money will be a bit tight for a few months yet. I've been jugglking cash from account to account like mad over the past few weeks to make sure nothing bounces!

Cardiff was marvellous - the free tickets for the German thing being cancelled were in a fantastic position and we were seriously impressed. Certainly won't ben going back to our old spot - tickets for next year are already booked in fact! We had a brilliant time anyway.

Right - shall finish for now, thanks for your patience if you've got this far!

Rotten luck car wise. My love-it-to-bits jeep is due its MOT this month. I bought for £500 last year from moody mate and we all love it. It's heavy on petrol but so nice to drive...not MSE at all but makes us all very happy. Lets see what garage says, with a wing and prayer it may pull thro.

good work on the DD tho. I've got gas down to about zip at the moment as everything is turned off but leccy never ever below £70. Changed suppliers so interesting to keep watching the meters, would be great if we could build up a wee surplus before the winter and huge gas bills hit. I certainly live in hope.

I know how you feel EH...I've been the same for the past month or so!!!We have to have a life though and stuff needs replacing every so often and repairs need done on houses..so I no longer feel bad about it.
Hope you manage to get your car back for monday....makes you realise when driving courtesy cars how much you like your own car.At least you won't waste your money buying a fiesta.

Good to see you back posting EH. I really liked the look of the 09 fiestas, but shame they're not as nice as they look. Funnily enough though I'm really happy with my 06 one, so I must have a better model than the 08 one you drove.

You know being here motivates you as you said. I'm having the same money juggling but keep coming here as I know without it I'd be worse lol.
